Security certificate problem on Disney site

Hi! Just de-lurking to ask a question that I hope someone can help me with.

I was trying to purchase MYW tickets straight from Disney's website, but I ended up getting an alert saying the name on this site's "security certificate" doesn't match the name of the site itself. Instead the name on the certificate is identified as "attractiontickets.tickets.com".

I'm not sure if this is just a glitch with Disney's site since they are switching over to a new ticket system, or if it is a real problem. I don't feel comfortable purchasing anything till I'm sure.

Any ideas?

I noticed the exact same thing. I'm too sceptical these days to feel comfortable with going ahead and purchasing. There are too many people out there that are a lot more savy than I am and could do things I never even dreamed of. Maybe a call do Disney could clarify the situation. If you call would you mind posting just to let us know what you find out. I'm not interested in purchasing for a little while...I was just playing around to figure up costs.

First welcome to the DIS and your first post!!! I myself would be leary too. I would try calling Disney and asking, even though I'm sure that might it might take awhile to find someone who will know for sure. It's better to be safe than sorry though. You could always purchase the tickets over the phone for the discounted price while it takes some time to straighten out their glitches.

While intended to avoid "man in the middle" attacks, the certificate warning is usually just the result of bad coding - for example, I get the same thing EVERY time I go to download my Citibank statements! If you click on "view certificate," you'll see more info.

I'm sure you chances of getting anyone who actually understands what you are telling them is very slim.

I get that same messege when I log onto Delta's site.
