Security and belts

Does anyone know if they make you remove your belt when going through security?

Never seem them do that or had an issue with it - occassionally they will ask if you have a buckle

I kept setting off all the detectors at both the parking garage checkpoint and all the roller coasters. It was a standard belt, a metal clasp more than a buckle, so the sensitivity on the machines is pretty high. I just lifted my t-shirt and let them wand me. Never had to remove the belt. Only had one guard think I was trying to deflect attention by having them zero in on the belt, but I think that is good for him. He was paying attention and playing out the situational possibilities.

I've never been asked about wearing a belt nor noticed anyone else being asked either.

DH just had to show the belt, and get a few second delay check with a security wand for the major coasters. Never had to remove it.

We just got back and DH has to lift up his shirt slightly to show the belt each time. It was no big deal. Now we went to Howl O Scream at Busch Gardens also and they asked DH to take the belt off. We thought is was strange until the guy told us why. He said the night before he asked some to remove their belt and they has a long bladed knife hide between it and the buckle. He said the guy said it was just a joke to see if he could get it past them but still after that DH didn't mind taking it off.
