Some Jungle Cruise info (copied/pasted from a website... I make no guarantees to accuracy.)

If you fall into the water at the Jungle Cruise, it is reccommended that you receive a tetanus shot. This is simply a safety precaution because of all of the fertilizers and pesticides used near the water of the "Rivers of the World"(mostly because the ROTW are self contained and do not get changed often). The Rivers of America, however, are connected via canal to the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Guests can swim in the water at Bay Lake, so a shot is probably not necessary if one falls into the Rivers of America. Also, the only time a shot is required for falling into the Jungle Cruise water is if your head goes all the way under, Known to Skippers as "full submersion".

The Magic Kingdom Jungle Cruise Boat names are:

1. Wamba Wanda
2. Orinoco Ida
3. Nile Nellie
4. Mongala Millie
5. Irawaddy Irma
6. Bomokandi Bertha
7. Zambezi Zelda
8. Volta Val
9. Senegal Sal
10. Amazon Annie

13. Ganges Gertie

15. Ucyali Lolly

The first two boats to be replaced with new boats of the same name were the Bomokandi Bertha and the Zambezi Zelda.

Since the Jungle received new boats, there is no longer a Kate. They ran out of money in the budget. And rare is the day that you will see the Zelda (constantly broken) or the Bertha (the wheelchair boat) churning the waters. A fun side note, the boats at Shrunken Ned's were designed for BOTH the old and new boats, so only minor changes would be needed for the changeover (the front bumper).

# There was a reference to the Jungle Cruise in the movie "Tarzan". When the gorillas begin shoving Clayton around and inspecting his personal belongings, one of them grabs his shotgun and sits back, peering into the barrels, exactly like the gorilla at the ransacked camp on the ride.

Actually WDW doesn't allow guests to swim in the Seven Ses Lagoon and Bay Lake anymore or any of the fresh water on WDW property for many reasons, contaminiation likely being one of them.

I'm sure most of you guys know this, but the wait times on the attractions are actually exagerated (sp) so you don't actually wait as long as the time says. I believe it is anywhere between 5 to 10 mins. less than what is listed. But I know most of you get FP for everything so it doesn't make a difference what the wait times are.

The wait time is controlled by the red cards that you see CMs handing out to people in line. We scan it at the front, take it to the last person in line, then they are scanned again right before you get on the ride. The information goes into a computerized system and displays a projected wait time which is what you see posted outside.

We actually try to make the wait time as accurate as possible, sometimes its more, sometimes its less, depending on a lot of things like the time of day, busy seasons, fastpass, etc. Here's my general rule if you walk up to a ride and the wait is 50 minutes, expect to wait 50 minutes

Ah, but the red cards measure how long it took for the person who just reached the loading area, who entered the line X minutes ago. That doesn't necessarily mean that's how long it will take someone NOW entering the line to get there, unless there has been a steady flow.

Its better than the old fashioned "your wait time is X from this point"...

If you could measure the speed of movement of the red cards through the line, it could get more accurate.

My question is WHO WOULD?????? I mean seriously! If you have Disney pools that are crystal clear to swim in, WHY SWIM IN A LAKE??? I grew up on the lake. I remember having to tread softly so as to not step on a broken bottle (You can't see through our lake... it was all orange!). We swam in the lake when we first got married until we got an above ground pool. From that day on just call us spoiled! If I can't see through it I want no part of it.

That was PIPA, the talking recycling bin. Unfortunately, PIPA "retired" in February and no longer appears.

The Sign on ToT WDW is mounted where the building fell off/disappeared after the lightning strike. In California, they fixed it and mounted the sign above the damaged area where it should be.

Saw "Push"last week. The man doing his voice and controls stood about five feet away. You would think he would try to be alittle more hidden. I like to try and find them but with dark sunglasses,speaking into his hand, and his other hand inside a bag on his side he kind of stood out.

I'm a little kid like that. I'd rather think that the trashcan is zooming around singing the Indiana Jones Theme Song with my brother's hat on its head than some dude controlling it.

My kids thought it was so cool to see the talking trash can! The he talked to them! Holy cow! I briefly looked for someone, but like the PP, it would ruin the effect. They are still amazed at it knowing thier names and holding a conversation with them.

Sorry, I'm very touchy when it comes to flash photos. We just got back from a vacation where I literally spent most dark rides enduring at least one flash until I strongly "reminded" the person to quit. Lots of loud talking from guests during the rides that have narrator commentary too. Ugh.

I'm glad that you had permission to take the photos... therefore

FYI: If anyone wants to hear the schpiel about the HM take the Keys to the Kingdom tour... they tell you all about Leota and such.

I don't blame you for being irritable- I am legally blind ( I can see with proper eyewear but am almost completely night blind- if there are bright lights in the dark it completely blocks off any vision I may have and gives me migraines) I also have the luck of have some minor hearing disabilities so when people are chattering away on a ride I can't hear what is going on. Very frustrating. I have 4 children and I think that if they can sit queitly through a ride so that I can enjoy it then others should be able to be considerate also....after all they are adults y'know.

I do think that is really cool that alot of the people on this thread have had awesome CM's that have found ways for them to take pics!! WDW is the best at going out of their way to make someone's day that is for sure!! I have always wanted a pic of the Madame Leota Ball....

I'm such a ding dong, I always try to find him but NEVER can!! He could probably have a sign hanging over his head saying "I'm the operator" and I'd still not notice!!
