I think that these exist, can anyone confirm it and let me know the room numbers? I'd love to try to get one for an upcoming cruise...

thanks!

Originally, they were sold as Category 6, but they were reclassified as Category 7 due to complaints about the slight obstruction. However, unlike the Cat. 7 Navigators verandahs, which are more enclosed, these staterooms have the "regular" plexiglass verandah rail. The four staterooms are: 6134, 6634, 7120, 7620.

We actually are in one of these staterooms (#6134) this weekend. (4 MORE DAYS :cheer2::dance3::yay::woohoo:) Our other cabin is a legitimate Cat 6 but it has the solid metal wall. We actually prefer 6134 because of the plexiglass.

What is "secret" about these verandahs?

I can't tell you. It is a secret.:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Seriously, I think it is just because they are listed as Navigator Veranda cabins in Cat 7, but in reality they are cabins with a real veranda. If you are not on DIS or are not a research nut, you would never know that these Cat 7 cabins are any different from the other cat 7 cabins. Hence, a secret.

What is "secret" about these verandahs?

The fact that they're a regular verandah (Cat 6), but sold as a Navigator's Verandah (Cat 7 - lower price) because of slight obstructions due to the shape of the metal on the ship at that point.

Thanks! I had read so much about them but always wondered how they differed.

On our last cruise we were in 7120. At first, I wanted to switch because I thought our view would be obstructed. But I think this may have been my favorite cabin so far! I would much rather have the plexiglass verandah anyday!

We had 6134 on the Wonder in January. It was great!

I didn't know my mom has a "secret" verandah. She's booked in that room for the July 18 cruise. We're up the hall in 6118. So, is the verandah enclosed somewhat with a plexiglass bottom? Can't wait!!!

Actually, the 2 cabins on Deck 7 were originally Cat 5's that were reclassified and show up on the Deck plans as Cat 7's (but they have a full open verandah with a plexiglass railing). There is a slight obstruction in the upper corner of the verandah but not a big deal at all.

The 2 cabins on Deck 6 were originally Cat 6's that were reclassified and show up on the deck plans as a Cat 7's....the obstruction on these verandahs is even less then the Deck 7 ones.

Any of the four "secret verandah" cabins are a great deal and a great cabin.

The four secret verandah cabins are 6134, 6634, 7120, 7620.

They are called "secret" as they show up on all deck plans as Cat 7's but are really relcassified Cat 5's and 6's.:thumbsup2

There is a webpage called disneycruiser (or something like that) which has photos of the obstructed views.

We had 7620 on the Wonder last Father's Day, and will be in a "secret verandah" on the Magic this Father's Day.

The view isn't all that obstructed...

:thumbsup2

We are in that cabin on the magic in october. Is this a plexiglass verandah? And how bad is the obstruction? I am so excited to get that room. So from that Room if we wanted to we could watch the sun set in key west from the verandah then right?

Yes it has a plexiglass verandah. The obstruction just comes over the top on one side. It really doesn't obstruct any view, you just need to watch your head when leaning over the rail.

Since 7120 is port side, you will be able to watch the sunset in Key West.

Probably not a good idea to lean over the rail anyway.:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Well, I don't mean leaning way over. Just leaning on it to watch the ship dock and such. The rail is high and we had no problems, just bumped my head once straightening back up.
