Secret Verandah Rooms?

We had 6134 on the Wonder in January. It was great!

I rebooked onboard and was able to get this room, would love to know your thoughts on it I was booked in a Cat 9 for our first 3 day but decided to up it a bit for a 5 night.

We booked 6634 for the Wonder 4 night in Nov. I am excited. :thumbsup2

If you had your choice of any one of the 4 cabins, which would you chose, and why?:)

I've got 7620 for the Westbound Transatlantic next year! :cool1::cool1:

Grabbed that puppy the minute the booking window opened. :thumbsup2

Very excited about being able to do a two week cruise with a verandah. ::yes::

For the Eastern 7-night, I'd pick 6634. Three reasons: 1) The obstructions on 6 are less than those on 7, 2) verandah view of CC, and 3) (from what I've been told) verandah view of fireworks on Pirate Night. pirate:

This was our first cruise, and we were really pleased with our cabin. We liked the verandah and there was hardly any obstruction to it. I was really glad to have this verandah instead of the more enclosed regular navigators verandah, especially since the weather was nice.

Everything in the room was in good order and good repair. The only problem we had was the AC which didn't work properly the first night. They fixed it the next morning and it was fine the rest of the trip. We just opened the door when we figured out it wasn't going to work and we slept fine that way. Our stateroom host, Donny (who was wonderful!) was so apoligetic but it wasn't his fault and was NBD with the weather beign good.

I thought the location was pretty good. We were fairly close to the aft stairs and elevator bank so it wasn't a bad walk to get to to those and travel throughout the ship. It was convenient for the movie theater, restaraunts and soda, we thought.

Also our muster location was in Animator's, so we got to sit down during the drill instead of roasting in the sun, which we had heard horror stories about!

I really liked the cabin and would definitely book it again!

HTH!

Thanks - that's 3 great reasons!

That alone is a great reason. My parents would love this!:goodvibes

We have just booked 6134 on the Magic for the 2010/10/16 Western cruise (yay!!) and as this will be our first cruise, I have another question concerning this room:
Does it have a queen bed or two singles? We would rather avoid getting two singles, but when I read up on disneycruise.com for this room category, it said it could be either .

Thank you and sorry for hijacking this older thread!

All the beds are queens that can be split into two singles....so no worries there!

I am not sure and sure I will be corrected, but I think to get these you have to call DCL direct and book them as they will not let you place a party greater than 3 in the room if you are trying to do it yourself or through a TA. Did you know there are secret port hole rooms as well?;)

In addition to the secret verandah rooms, I got the impression from another post that there is a public verandah somewhere that is not well known so it's rarely occupied. Can anyone point that out or did I misunderstand?

What you are referring to is the "Secret Deck 7"....it is a public deck all the way aft on Deck 7 that is pretty large and rarely occupied. it is open from about 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. It used to be open all night but people were found doing "unDisney" things out there so they had to close it overnight!! LOL!!

Sometimes there are sun loungers out there, sometimes not. Sometimes it is used for private parties through DCL. As long as the there is no sign about a private party going on then it is open for you to go out there. It gives you a great view off the back of the ship.

Here is a pic, as taken from Topsiders outside Deck on Deck 9, looking down to Deck 7 that I took a few years back.

The secret verandah rooms all only hold 3 people. They can be booked online, on the phone or through a TA (we had a TA book ours). As long as it is available online you could book it. But no more than 3 people can be booked into it at any time.

Here are some pics from another website (which I hope they don't mind that I posted).

Thank you for the information and the picture. I'm definitely going to look for that deck. :)

You are welcome!! Enjoy it!! In January we actually (for the first time in 17 DCL cruises) watched our arrival into CC from that deck instead of Deck 10 and it was great!

On our last cruise we were in 7120. At first, I wanted to switch because I thought our view would be obstructed. But I think this may have been my favorite cabin so far! I would much rather have the plexiglass verandah anyday!

We are in this cabin in July!!!
