Here's my blog post from yesterday:

I find a lot of fun ideas on Pinterest to add to my Disney pre-vacation planning repertoire. (Link to my pinterest page. Link to this countdown idea.) Having a countdown to an upcoming trip adds a lot of fun to the anticipation. I usually recommend to begin planning a Disney vacation at least six months in advance....and even more if possible!
By the time we get to nine days in our vacation countdown, we've already picked our resort, tickets and dining plan. We've booked and paid for the trip. We've already made our dining reservations and planned our park days based on which parks will be least crowded each day of our trip. We have mapped out our park touring strategies. We've canceled dining reservations and made new ones until our plans are just. about. perfect. We've examined the ultimate packing list. We've opened a suitcase and started thinking about what to put in it.
I'll be leaving in a few days for my long awaited and eagerly anticipated first experience at Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. Nine days to be more exact.
So what am I doing at nine days from vacation?
Stay tuned to see what happens tomorrow! (8 days til Disney!)
(end of blog post)
So, I'll be letting skater do the schmoozing at the airport. She has a way of sweet talking people into what she wants.
DH tore his pectoral muscle (right arm) yesterday. He's supposed to not use it for 6 weeks. He's in a lot of pain. I was afraid that maybe I would have to cancel the trip. He is actually accepting some help--I think after trying today to manage he realized he just cannot use his arm. This is somewhat of a challenge for a dairy farmer.

- Sudden panic: I have nothing to wear!
- Emergency last minute trip to the mall to frantically search through clearance racks for any possible leftover summer clothes.
- Long e-mail conversation with my best friend (accompanying me on this trip--yes, it's a mom's only vacation!) about how I'm actually getting off work earlier than expected and we can leave for the airport at 2:00 instead of 3:00. More discussion....final decision to arrive 5 hours prior to our scheduled flight and sweet talk the gate attendant to try and get on an earlier flight! Whoo hoo! (It's always good to arrive early in that magical place!)
- Agreement with best friend that we prefer to wait it out at the airport, anticipating Disney and enjoying that fantastic airport food (you can read the sarcasm here, right?) rather than to wait at home until later to be on our way to Disney.
