GOING TO WDW IN JOIN WITH MY DISNEY FAMILY (DW 3 DS'S). DOES ANYONE HAVE A GOOD SECRET SPOT TO WATCH WISHES. WE WATCHED IN LIBERTY SQUARE ONCE IT WAS OK. LOOKING FORWAED TO HEARING YOUR INPUT. THANX

In frontierland, there is some sort of dock/boardwalk area that you can walk on right next to the lake. If you stand all the way at the end of that (end closest to SM) ,there is a bench there, you can see pretty good and there is no one in front of you. However, you can't of course see Tink.

For seeing Tink, watch from the rose garden to the right of the castle. That is an excellent spot, just a bit more crowded than the dock area.

Also, we happened to be in Adventureland once when the fireworks were getting ready to go off so we quickly asked a CM where a good spot would be and he happily showed us a spot right in the middle of the street in front of the Jungle Cruise :flower: He was right, it was a good spot. Hope this helps! :wave2:

PS You might want to watch writing in all caps-some believe it means you're shouting and will refuse to answer ;)

We watched it one night from the Swiss Family Treehouse! It felt like we were right in the middle of the fireworks, going off all around us!

Is the Rose Garden the best possible place to see Tinkerbell? The fireworks, of course are great, but my 2yr. DD truly believes after our last year trip that she is Tinkerbell. So getting the best possible viewing of Tink will thrill her more than anything. Thanks for the help. I LOVE WDW! princess:

The rose garden is great, but so is the area just to the right of the castle, to the left of the rose garden.(bridge?) It is VERY crowded there though. Also, you can see the wire that holds Tink up very well there too. That might be a disadvantage to those who truly believe ;) We were standing there once when a 2-3 yr old noticed it and asked her Daddy what that was. He told her it was nothing and she dropped it. So, that might just be something to consider. :wizard:

We watched Wishes twice from the open area right at the front of the castle steps. It does fill in, but both times we got there about 1/2 hour early, had a pick of spots and sat on our blanket and had a snack. Great spot with a good view of Tink too. You can see the wire from here too. The nice thing here is that you just have to slowly wander down Main Street to get out. When we were there in Feb there was a big area boarded up in front of the castle for preparations for the big May celebrations. I don't know what it will be like after, but we sat in front of this for the fireworks. The only thing we thought was that there was a bit of the fireworks that you don't see all of (some of the lower stuff), don't know if the view is better behind the castle, or whether we were so close that we just got that impression.

Is Wishes every night? It's in MK right? What time does it start and how long does it last? :confused3

It is usually at 9 or 10 o'clock and I'm pretty sure it's every night. Yes, it's at MK, I think it lasts about 10 minutes??

I do have to say that if you're right in front of the castle that you are missing quite a bit of the fireworks as they are shot off ( at least some of them) from behind the castle and the castle does block your view.

Yes, Wishes is at MK and it lasts approx 12 mins. If you go to the park hours page, you can put in your dates and see what the hours are for the parks, and it gives fireworks & parade times as well. You will have to be within a few months of your trip though as Disney will not release official park times until a month or two in advance usually. You can also get this information off of the official Disney website of course.

hth!

If you are staying at the Contemporary resort, get a room at the Contemp Towers, facing MK. We were able to stay at a Contemp. Tower room for my dd's Make-A-Wish trip last yr. It was AWESOME to see the Wishes fireworks from our room! We were able to see them about every night from our room. My dh video taped them from our room, from our balcony, while my ds, dd, and I viewed behind the glass sliding door to the balcony.
Also, there's a certain channel on the TV that has the Wishes music that you crank up while the fireworks are going off-the music that goes along with Wishes.
It is so cool to see the Wishes fireworks from that far because you see the different fireworks pattering each other. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Tinkerbell in the fireworks because we were too far. But it was a wonderful experience overall.

I also know at the Contemporary resort, there is a restaurant on the 14th floor of the Towers that there is an outdoor viewing deck to view Wishes. I can't remember the name of the restaurant, since we didn't eat at that specific restaurant last yr. Also, at that same restaurant, you can make a PS at the time of Wishes and view from the rest. window while you eat.

I also read from another Disney board, that you can view Wishes from the beach area of the Poly. resort. They filter in the Wishes music into the beach area from some hidden speakers.

my best memery from my last trip
is my whole family plopping down accross from the carasoul and leaning back to watch wishes-

still brings tears to my eyes

So is the view better from the back of the castle than from the front? Or is better further away? We said after the last time we saw it from the front maybe we'd try another spot next time.

Personally, I think I would be in front of the castle, just back a little bit so the castle isn't blocking your view. That way you're sure to see anything projected onto the castle, the fireworks, and tink. We just like to try and find places that are a bit less known, like the OP suggested, a "secret spot", for us to avoid the crowds. However, I don't know of any that you can see all of the above from.
That Swiss Family Treehouse sounds like a neat idea, might have to try that. Doesn't it close early sometimes, though? Maybe just certain times of the year? HTH :wave2:

While waiting for our PS at Crystal Palace, we sat on the steps and watched Wishes. It was fabulous. We watched another night from the area down from the Plaza Restaurant, on the lake (this is the smoking area). It was the perfect place for tink watching, but Tink didn't fly that night for some reason. My DD said it was b/c she awakened her too early!!

Well, doesn't everyone know that the wire (that some think is to "help" Tink fly) is actually Cinderellas's clothesline :teeth: ?!?...

agnes!

I wouldnt say this is a SECRET place but our best view of wishes has always been up against the Green Rails across from Crystal Palace. Thier are some benches there if you get their half hour or so early.
