over 2000 people read this thread,, but only 3 have asked me for a copy of the map with the location. :teeth:

(yes I really do have a map,, someone posted it 4 years ago.)

thats ok, 2000 emails would have been a lot. :rotfl2:

I would be curious in seeing the map :earboy2:

Well, it's certainly not impossible, I just think it would be long, difficult, expensive, and more than a little dangerous to have a 1-mile walkway through the Florida jungle/swampland.

It would be a long walk, longer than the one from Epcot to MGM, and would be unattended by CMs - what if someone were hurt along the way and needed help? Not to mention gators!

So yes, it certainly could be done. Building a 1-mile sidewalk is no big deal for WDW. But once it's built it would be a tremendous liability issue for them that they would probably never take on. Besides, what would the advantage be for Disney? How many Guests would take the walkway instead of the bus?

True, but there's a fairly long trail that goes between FW and WL as well. Wouldn't those same questions/problems apply?

I was kind of thinking that a path from the AKL to the AK would stimulate interest in the AKL. Is still seems to be the least popular of the deluxe resorts, which is a shame.

I'd like to see the map too...we'll be in AK in 5 weeks.

My curiousity has peaked too! Could you give me a copy of the map too?? TIA :)

I've often wondered exactly that, myself.

The distance from WL to FW is only 1/4 mile. But gators are routinely sighted in the canals around FW, so I often wonder how Disney keeps the trail safe, espaecially after dark.

sounds like fun to me! maybe they could put a cage( like they do over freeways) around it to protect from the gators and lots of mosquito netting if it is swampy
there was also a nature trail along the lake in fw that went through some pretty dense growth( by the tradeing post by trails end) that i'm sure was close to a mile long
