By the way, your TR was by far one of the very best and most entertaining that I've read and you are my inspiration!

haven't been on in awhile been busy with school, just finished catching up. Your mom is very cute, i'm the same way with the rides. I agree with test track though it doesn't even go that fast . I also think it will be harder to get her to ride space and splash once she sees them but try to tell her look at all those little kids riding it and they are fine (that's how my husband got me on space mountain).

So once you got on Space Mountain, did you like it?

I think I'm going to look like the mean parent forcing their scared child onto a ride they don't want to go on - except with the roles reversed! I know that she's going to try to back down on some of the rides she already agreed to go on and I'm going to try to get her on any way that I can! But only for the rides that I know she'll enjoy. The ones I know she'll hate or be miserable on (Space Mountain, Everest) I would never force her to do. I just don't want her to miss out on things I know she would enjoy! (I really do sound like the pushy, know-it-all parent! )

Hey!! We got back from our trip to Disney not long ago too and I can totally understand the frustration of traveling in the winter.. the day before our trip we got a TON of snow (I think it was something like 22 inches!!) I just had to get a picture of it and include in in my TR because it was SO stressful!!

We went to Mama Melrose and loved it! I hope you do too!

Keep in mind it may not be as warm as you think down there- there were two nights it was very chilly... 30ish degreees! I think thats probably the only thing I wasn't prepared for- just like you I want to be prepared all the time too! I love your small bag and I brought a tiny backpack for the trip- loved it!

Enjoy your trip and I can't wait to see pictures when you return!

No it hasn't snowed significantly in about 2 weeks (woohoo!!!! ) and it's been warmer, relatively speaking. Today it's going to be in the 40s, tomorrow in the 50s, and Friday it may reach 60 but be rainy. Now it's unseasonably warm but I'm not complaining! The weather forecast for Sunday is sunny and 44 degrees

Thanks for reading! I've been checking weather.com obsessively to see the weather for the week we'll be there. It's looking beautiful. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. I'll bring a sweatshirt and a jacket but I think a low of 50 will still feel really nice compared to the lows we've had here this winter! I will check out your TR later today when I get home from work.

I can totally relate to obsessive weather.com checking.. I checked it so often because of the impending weather that when i typed "W" in the search bar "weather.com" came up before "walt disney world" ... not a good sign!!

So glad it looks like the weather will hold out for you- you are going to have an amazing time!!

Joining in on the thread! I'm a teacher from NYC so I know what you've been going through with taking time off and the weather complicating things! I actually was supposed to drive my BFF to Disney that weekend for her DCP check in! We wound up leaving LATE on Thursday!

I'll actually be there the same week as you! I'm also planning a trip for me and my mom in October. I'm curious to hear how you getting your mom to go on the rides goes - my mom is not so much with rides!

I'm actually going solo this trip! It's my first solo trip, which is going to be a little weird. I usually go with my best friend but she is now working there! It's going to be so strange to go on vacation at her job!

I leave out of Newark midday on Monday 2/21 and stay until 2/27. I'll be staying OP with my friend at her town house.

Plans for the week are a little loose. We have reservations at Sanaa for Monday, which is one of her only nights off that week.

After that, I'm thinking MK on Tuesday, Epcot on Wednesday and I'm pretty flexible about the rest. I'm imagining I'll park hop around a bit at the end of the week. I'm not trying to plan too much because I'm curious to adjust to a first time trip!

You'll have to post what you think about Boma. I love Sanaa so I'm interested to try it!

I haven't been on it yet since the refurb, but I always thought it was too jerky. I don't like being thrown around like that. I love rollercoasters but I like them smooth.

I meant to post about this last week but I forgot

I'll be wearing glasses to WDW for the first time! I've worn contacts since age 12 but I'm having some eye problems so my eye doctor won't let me wear them for the foreseeable future I miss them so much.

I hate that they are constantly getting dirty plus I'm worried about wearing them on RNRC, EE, ToT, etc....

Anyone ride any of these with glasses?

I have searched the forums a little bit and found mixed responses. I'm thinking I should probably bring an extra pair with me...just in case...

I almost always wear my contacts at Disney but my DH always wears his glasses since he doesn't have contacts. He has never had a issue with them at all. He does remove them for RNR but leaves them on for all the other rides. When we went to Cedar point I wore my glasses and took them off for the more wild rides. I just took a hard case with me and put them in the case in my bag for the rides I wasn't sure about.

I hear you on the contacts. I find it so hard to wear glasses after being used to contacts for so long. I have issues with peripheral vision when wearing glasses because you can't just look out the corner of your eye, you have to turn your whole head. I have tiny lenses so that isn't helping either. Some day I hope to get Lasik, it would be nice to wake up and be able to see.

I hope you have a great trip and I think we are finally out of that weather pattern. My yard is turning into a mud pit, it's really disgusting.

And I can't wait to hear all about the trip when you get back.
