I don't think I want to do the DCP anymore.. I've already paid the fees, do I lose that money if I cancel?

The term "non-refundable", which is attached to all mentions of the fees paid when accepting, means that you won't get that money back.

just an fyi- it is normal to be a bit scared and apprehensive about moving to a strange area and doing things outside of one's normal routine. However, 97% of the others on the program are in the same boat. Unless there is something significantly preventing you from being able to go, stick with it.

Yes, you will lose your money. I had second thoughts about doing the program also but I decided to do it anyway and it was the best experience of my life and I'm hopefully going back for Fall Advantage and making it a permanent move to Florida. And between you and me, Florida is so much better than New Jersey

Yes the program is non refundable. I'm really sorry you have changed your mind. If you don't want to do it because you don't want to be that far away from home when I studied abroad a year and a half ago I was absolutely terrified leading up to and including the seven hour plain flight to Scotland (from Georgia). When I got there I had one emotional evening and then proceeded to have the best six months of my life. But everyone is different and I wish you well in whatever you might decide!

Can you tell us why you wouldn't want to do the DCP anymore? Perhaps we can assuage some of your fears, as a lot of us were very unsure about doing it at first, but now believe it to be one of the best decisions they've made in their lives.

Don't have second thoughts. Do it. You'll be passing up one of the most unique opportunities of your life.

With that said, TALK to folks here about what your concerns are. If homesickness is one, don't worry - it's over in the blink of an eye and you'll be homesick for Orlando if anything.
