OK, at this rate I will be crazy by next September. I already have a room only ressie for September 1-8, 2005. It is for myself, DH, and DD(13 at that time). We would be celebrating our anniversary and my birthday (you know, the big one!! ) I am now wondering how a few things will affect those dates. First, there are the hurricanes. I have been in Sept. a few times now and have never had any trouble with any weather conditions just before, during or after those trips. Those trips were more toward the end of September though. Next is the Labor Day crowds. How bad (or not bad) is it? Then there is this Tom Joyner family reunion. Apparently, last year was the first time it was held at WDW and was so successful they are having it Labor Day weekend this year also (I did just read that it was canceled). What kind of crowds does that bring? I notice that MGM was closing early one evening for some private event that this reunion thing was having there. I will be taking my daughter out of school and going over Labor Day would mean 2 less school days missed, but I would not have a problem pulling her out later for the full week (5 school days). I am leaning towards changing my ressie to later in the month but wanted to see if my concerns are valid. You all will have great words of wisdom, I'm sure!

As for hurricanes, the season is from June 1st to November 30th, if that helps :)

Okay....take a deep breath and relax :D I was in Orlando 8/30 - 9/8 last year and in the parks 8/31- 9/7 and the crowds were very light. Our group only had a long wait at MGM for Star Tours and I believe that was because we went right there after the Indiana Jones show let out and so did everyone else. I don't remember it raining much to speak of and it was an absolutely amazing trip for me. I was 8 months pregnant so I took it slower and that was a lot of it but the other part was that September is a great time to go to the "World". Our friends even went to MK on Labor Day and didn't have any waits for attractions really. (I refused because I was a tad bit worried about the holiday itself) We went over Labor Day in 2000 also and really light crowds although we did have an afternoon rain shower I think every day that year.

Now - I will admit that I am so glad that we didn't plan to go over Labor Day this year. But I don't think you can count out Labor Day weekend/week from now on. If you have plans made for next year and that time frame works well for you - keep it. You will have a wonderful time and surely there won't be the hurricanes we are seeing this year.
