Do you ever second guess your original resort choice after you read a few bad reviews? Or do you stick to your original plan? Thought I had my decision made on a Cars suite at AOA for November 2014.....now after reading a few bad reviews I'm second guessing my decision. My boys will be 8 and 13 and we love the photos and videos we've watched. Now I'm scared of spending all that money for a suite and us be severely disappointed. I could probably stay moderate or even at one of the cheaper deluxe for what a suite will cost. Ugh!!!! I hate decision making!!! Anybody else ever doubted their decision after reading a few bad reviews?!

I would not be second guessing at all. When AOA opened I toured the resort and went into the Cars rooms. I loved them. I am a DVC member so it doesn't really make sense for me to stay there because I have the points to use at other resorts but I am considering paying cash during an upcoming vacation to be able to stay at AOA. I loved it!

I did a lot of second guessing when I booked the Poly back in 2007. After booking, I read a lot of negative reviews about the resort. Even though the Poly was at the top of our list of resorts to try, I started rethinking my choice and seriously considered changing. I finally decided to stick with the Poly and I am so glad I did. If I had changed resorts, we would have missed out on one of the best Disney trips ever. We've had great stays at all of the resorts we've stayed at, but the Poly was just absolutely awesome!!! We loved the resort the minute we checked in and our trip could not have been any better than it was. With that said, you're the only one who can make the decision of whether to change or keep what you have, but I would take any and all reviews with a grain of salt. Good luck.

We stayed at AoA Cars not too long after it opened and our kids were 7-14 years old. Oh and it was November too. Anyway, the few complaints that I had were probably related to the newness of the resort and some glitches. The property itself was great. The Blue Pool was fantastic. The Surf and Surf at the good court was wonderful. And we are glad we did it while our youngest was still so Interested in the Cars theme. I'd say stick with your original plan. If you plan another trip in years to come you can enjoy a mod or deluxe when the boys are older.

But as PP said you know your family best. :)

I personally love AoA a d would stay there any time. A review is someone's opinion on there experience. You need to try is for yourself before you say its bad without even trying it. The dis team did a 7 in 7 at AoA and they thought it was fantastic. I don't think I would care where I would stay there because all of the sections look amazing. Little mermaid is the only one with regular rooms and all of the other sections have family suites. The family suites look amazing and if I had to choose cars would probably be my first choice.

disney lover at heart

We've never had to 2nd guess with Disney, and have stayed at Value, Moderate & Deluxe accommodations & haven't been disappointed. Reviews are always subjective, so reading a few bad reviews wouldn't have us changing our reservations. Now if all or a vast majority of the reviews were bad that would probably be a different story. :confused3

I had my heart set on a Cars suite for our July 2014 trip. But as I've been really getting into the planning the last couple weeks I kept coming back to one thing... the Cars suite at the time we're going is almost as much as a standard room at a deluxe resort. We're value people. We've done All Stars and POP. We like the value resorts and have been happy in the value rooms (we're just there to sleep anyway). And looking at the $1000+ price difference for our trip between a standard room at a value and the suite we voted yesterday that we're doing a Little Mermaid room at AoA. Seems I was the only one in the family who really cared about the Cars suite. LOL

Well, I like to second guess everything I do...:dance3::dance3::dance3:

We were actually booked at AOA Nemo for Oct and I ended up switching us to BC about a month ago. AOA looks awesome to me however, I started thinking about the cost of the suites being pretty pricey,my kids ages, the parks we like and the way we like to travel. My boys are absolutely LOVE Epcot and HS and from BC you can walk or go by boat. All three kids are huge pool lovers and so Stormalong Bay looks like a great fit for us. I think my DH and I will also love the Boardwalk, etc.

My rationale (:rotfl2::rotfl2:) is that if a RO dsct comes out it will probably be for 30% since it is a deluxe or if we go the FD way, the regular dining plan is what you get free which is what we prefer. We would have had to upgrade from QS if we stayed at AOA. Now this is assuming those dscts will happen.:thumbsup2 I know in the long run we are spending more this way but I like to pretend....:rotfl:

So, I definitely don't think I would switch over reviews alone since they are so subjective. I would probably just think about what your family likes to do and how you vacation. At Disney, I don't think there is a bad choice!:thumbsup2

Many years ago, after making reservations at GF RPC, I saw some negative reviews. I almost switched resorts but decided to stick with it. Needless to say, I was soooo nervous when we arrived at the hotel.

I was so glad we tried it because we have the BEST time ever. That is where we have always stayed ever since.

Our first stay on site was CBR. I read trip advisor reviews and was concerned about getting a dirty, smelly, mouldy room with poor mouse keeping. Nothing could have been further from the truth.
Take bad reviews with a grain of salt.

I think it is natural to second guess yourself sometimes. I read a lot of negative reviews about CBR after I booked it a couple of years ago. It almost made me want to switch to another moderate. I went ahead and kept the reservation and I ended up loving it. It really is all about your personal experience because certain things that may bother some people may not necessarily bother you.

AoA is a wonderful resort. We stayed there in Dec and will stay there again in Aug. What some people find to be a negative may be things that you either wouldn't notice or things that wouldn't bother you. Everyone is different. If you've seen the pics & video & you think your family will like the theme/decor then go for it!

We loved the theme & decor of the resort & the Cars section is just so cool!!
The food at the food court is great and so was the bus service, and we were there Xmas week & had no issues! Housekeeping did a great job too.

The majority of the people here love the BC, especially the pool. We stayed there & didn't care for the pool & thought the resort was just ok! Also, many DVC'ers love OKW. We hated it! :rotfl: We listened to all the great reviews of those resorts & it didn't work out for us, but you live and learn. ;) So my advice is to take reviews with a grain of salt. Don't second guess yourself! Go with your gut & hopefully you'll be right! :thumbsup2
