Sec - rocks!!

I'm so proud of the SEC! :)

I thought Saban came from Michigan State, a Big Ten school...... but nonetheless.

The true national championship game was the SEC championship game. Texas was formidable but not a #2 team, Cincinnati didn't belong on the same field with a team like Florida. TCU and Boise State, play the big guns to get to the big games.

Didn't 9 SEC teams make a bowl appearance? It's something to be proud of....

and watch out, UK basketball is back!!!!

TCU beat Clemson this season and would have happily taken on Florida or Alabama given the chance. Or Texas. Instead, we played Poinsettia Bowl II.

Five MWC teams played bowls and we have a conference of 8 teams. Something to be proud of, too.

What always strikes me as funny is that the SEC actually has 'fans.' No other conference has fans. No one says they are a "Pac 10" fan. No Texas fan is going to root for Oklahoma in a bowl game, period. It doesn't matter that they are in the same conference. No Oregon State fan is going to root for the Ducks or USC, ever. It's that whole "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing.

Every Oregon State fan I know rooted for Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

Texas fans MAY root for A&M or Tech on rare occasions but that has to do with being from Texas not conference.

I'm sure there are classy SEC fans, it is just that the obnoxious ones give you a bad name.

I'm a Big 10 fan. I even root for Michigan ...whenever they play in a bowl, that is. :lmao: (They reeeeally need to get rid of Rich Rod.) I love Joe Paterno and was thrilled that Penn State beat LSU. :cool1:

You know...to me a classy coach would have taken a knee at the end...there was no reason for that last touchdown. :confused3

You mean like Iowa taking 2 kneel-downs in the last 1:23 of the Orange Bowl, with a 10 point lead over Georgia Tech?

Kirk Ferentz = classy.
Nick Saban :confused3.
My thoughts exactly.

A decade ago, Nick Saban coached Michigan State for a few years. Prior to that it was Toledo. After that he did LSU leaving them for NFL (Miami) and after 2 years (one losing season) he jumped ship to Alabama.

So yeah Big 10 years ago with more work in SEC than anywhere else.

I have to say that each conference has their "bad apples" that spoil it for the nice ones.

I have always been an SEC fan.

When I was in high school & college, I went to many a bowl game that Alabama played against Ohio State & Penn State (yes, I'm really aging myself as one of my daughter's teacher said today) and I will tell you that there were some of those team fans that were not exactly the nicest bunch of people, including dumping beer on some fans because of a call.

I'm very happy that Alabama won! The Tide has risen again!
