Sebastian's Make A Wish Trip to Disney

I took Savannah to the Doctor this morning. I've been holding off taking her because we have been going so much lately. But she has been waking up 6,7,8 times a night with coughing fits. Finally her crying has gotten so pathetic sounding like she has laryngitis.

Turns out that she has bronchialitis an RSV virus thing. She also has an ear infection again. Dr. says that her immunity may be weaker due to her Gastroesophogeal Reflux issues. Dr. is bumping her up to Pravacid for the GER and putting her on Albuterol for the Bronchialitis and Omnicef for the ear infection.

I feel sad for her that she has been sick for half her little life so far. I keep thinking she would be a happier baby if I could just get her healthy.

No problem on telling my organizer self to wait on making more outfits! :goodvibes :goodvibes ... This is what my next two weeks look like: (which is why I have been trying to work on packing and Christmas stuff earlier)

But that is what makes trips FUN! :rotfl: or at least for me....

Yeah, I think on our last trip we did change clothes for each park. I even had the kids change for the characters. Yeah...I remember it...Brian thought I was insane to make Sebastian put on a Mickey Mouse costume to meet Mickey. But oh the pictures are so freakin cute! I haven't been that on top of thing this time around...

As soon as I saw the shirst you made (which are awesome, by the way!!) I thought "oh, no, I wonder whether she checked with her Big Give coordinators first!" :rotfl:

I'm sorry that little Savannah is sick! She is so little!!! :sad2: Hopefully they'll be able to give her something that'll make her better.

But when I filled out our form and responded to Jeanne I DID mention that I had bought animal print fabric and that I was wanting to make "Thing" and Incredibles shirts. I asked if anyone knew where I could find a way to do those logos...I hope I didn't upset any of you WONDERFUL Disboutiquers. :sad2:

Don't worry about it Amber. We were a bit surprised :scared1: But, we understand that it was just a misunderstanding. :hippie: I think we might have let the lady doing the Thing shirts know in time. :thumbsup2 Anyway, you should be getting some more awesome things soon!

ETA: Woops, we didn't get the message to her in time after all, but she found someone who could use the shirts.

Last time I got my hair cut in was in June. On that day I told my stylist, Laura, that I thought I wanted to cut my hair for Locks of Love. I was headed to the hospital to meet with Sebastian's Ocologist and the Pathologist after this cut so I was in a hurry. Laura talked me out of it saying I had a lot going on and that if I still felt the same way next time I got my hair cut that then I should go for it.

So there I was in the lobby again of Charles Grayson Salon. I’d researched all about the requirements for Locks of Love and Pantene and the various other groups that collect hair to make wigs for children afflicted with cancer. The requirements for Locks of Love were to cut 10 inches and Pantene required 9. I even posted on the Wish Trippers thread asking for advice. Everybody said to wait until after the trip.

But I really needed a hair cut (and color even more!) and I didn't want to spend more money to have to go back. SOOO... I resolved to at least go for Pantene’s 8 inches.

I’ve been wearing my hair long for SEVEN years now! So this was going to be a big change and I was really, really nervous!

First Laura measured out the 8 inches and I thought to myself, “No, if I’m doing this, I’m DOING this! So she moved the elastic up to 10 inches and cut a little bit above that.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget the sound that the scissors made as Laura cut through my hair.

After it was cut I got really emotional. I thought about all the bald little girls I’ve seen at Clinic. Maybe these 10 inches would help to make a wig for one of them.

I didn’t have time to get any after pictures at the Salon since I was to scoot over to pick the kids up from school. So sadly you don’t get to see how nice Laura styled it. By the time I got home the wind had whipped it out of it’s “perfect” state. But these are more realistic to how it will look when I have to do it anyway.

I’m happy with how it turned out. Though I do think it makes me look older. Which, since people already guess my age over 30 is a little distressing. The gal at check out put it nicely and said I look more “mature.” LOL

My husband Brian hasn't seen it yet. I didn't tell ANYONE I was doing it. I can't wait to see his reaction!

You look GREAT, Amber!!!!!!! :goodvibes It really suits you and I don't think it makes you look "older", it just defines your face more and make you look classy. :thumbsup2 I would totally feel the same way about cutting off that much hair. Mine has been long since grade 3 or something (and then only cut shoulder length, and before then it was long since I was 4).

You did an awesome thing, though!!! Good for you!!! I'm sure some lucky little girl will love having your beautiful hair on her head! :lovestruc

You look GREAT!!!! :)

Your hair does look classy! and I am glad that you did it, since you are so happy with it!! Maybe it will actually be easier to deal with in Disney, too, which will be nice! :)

Amber, you look gorgeous! Arminda did this when she was in 1st grade. I cried and cried when they cut off her ponytail! She was fine, I was a mess! I was so proud of her though! You should be proud of yourself!

I must be weird because I thought that it made you look younger :)

Good for you :)

Mandy

You look great Amber! My sister's hair grows fast, she does this every couple of years!

AmberGreenawalt;28786494 I’m happy with how it turned out. Though I do think it makes me look older. Which said:
Oh WOW!! Make sure to let us know what he says. I think you look more mature too, but not older.

I really like it. It looks so good on you.

Our wish Granters stopped by last night for a visit. It was really nice! We met a new Wish Granter in training who is going to be helping with Sebastian's party on Saturday. Her name is Michelle and she just got back from Disney herself so I was able to pick her brain about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Michelle gave Sebastian a little sword and Siennah a Cinderella wand from when they ate at Cinderella's Royal Table. Sebastian went a little crazy with the sword.

He was really excited to show Shondra his paper chain and he went up to his room and brought it back. Sure is getting short!

Shondra gave us our Family Packet. It contained Make A Wish buttons, 2 Disposable cameras, A MAW shirt for Sebastian, a packet of Info and our expense check. I'm glad to have the check so that we can work on our budget.

We went over some details for Sebastian's party this weekend. It sure will be interesting to get four adults and six kids to Plaza Fiesta by 8:00 a.m. to do "media" interviews.

Our friends from Florida arrive tomorrow. Sebastian is EXCITED to see his buddy Mason! He is also looking forward to seeing Santa at his party.

I can't wait to see his smiles!!!
