Hi, all!
My DD will be going to Career Camp 7/22 to 7/28 (her 1st & she is so excited!) so we will be staying in SD for 8 nights. It's so hard to decide where to stay...I've looked at tripadvisor reviews, but it's difficult when there are both great and terrible reviews of the same place! Any recommendations (would be good if there is a continental breakfast or kids eat free)? We just want to take it easy...SW 2 days, Legoland 2 days (my DS loves it!), shopping & relaxing...
I'd appreciate your replies!

Will you be renting a car? If so, Embassy Suites on La Jolla Village Drive might be an option for you:

Embassy Suites-La Jolla Village Drive

It's about 11 miles from SW (about a 15 minute drive down the freeway). Easy access to both Interstate 5 and 805 (both freeways are a straight shot up north to Legoland or points south). Embassy Suites also provides full breakfasts for free. It's right across the street from University Towne Center (a shopping mall), close to La Jolla (more shopping, sightseeing), La Jolla Shores Beach or La Jolla Cove, or Del Mar.

If I think of any more, I'll edit my post or add on. Good luck in your search! :)

This is our favorite San Diego retreat! The Blue Sea Lodge! We love this hotel!! It has a pool that looks out to the beach and it is right next to the sand. Our room had a kitchenette, which was great but it seems to me they had a continental breakfast down stairs. We missed it sleeping in... with our balcony door open to listen to the waves!

It is right on Pacific Beach which is a great eclectic area with people walking, running, skating, surfing. The sand is great and there are several surf shops to rent boogie boards and other water toys. There is a grocery store just a block or so away and there are lots of excellent restaurants to visit within walking distance. We usually hole up there and just do a few days outings to visit Sea World & the Zoo. It is awesome!
