seating at Marrakesh?

When making a PS at Marrakesh the CM told me that people would be seated one by one and not together? She said there was a flag on the reservation page for that restaraunt saying to please inform guest that seating was arranged this way.

How can that work with families with small children? Did this CM know what she was talking about? I went ahead and made the AR and figured if we arrived and it looked difficult, we could just eat at the Tangierine Cafe instead, which we love. We really wanted try Marakesh, but we have DS5 and DD4 with us....what fun would that be to eat seperately even if divided by two, one adult and one child? Please tell me she was wrong??

I was there over a year ago and it was just like any other restaurant with regular tables... I think someone awhile back posted that the CM told them it was family seating (strangers dining together), so I haven't a clue why they tell people that! To my knowledge, nothing has changed.

I just ate there about 2 weeks ago and they had regular tables like any restaurant. In fact, we were a pary of 7 and we were all seated at one table which was on the edge of the "dance" floor. I didn't see any kind of seating like you are talking about. Unless something changed in the last two weeks?

For those who have been here before, how did your children like this restaurant? We try to pick one Epcot TS restaurant each trip and this is the place my children chose (they are 4 and 6). We've only been to Nine Dragons, Beirgarten, and Teppyanki before (loved them all).

We ate there about a week ago and our kids didn't have any problems. Of course, they had chicken fingers. Just like every other meal.... Ours our 5 and 6.

By the way, they really liked the belly dancer.

The shish kabob is pretty good.

My kids were just "okay" with it.

My DS (10) ordered a hamburger off the kids menu. It wasn't fully cooked. YUCK.

DD (13) and her friend (14) split the chicken kabob entree. They seemed to really like as the plate was clean. They are not overly adventurous eaters and I think they liked the "plainness" of the chicken kebobs.

We had lunch at Marrakesh in May. All 3 of my children (2.5 yo dd, almost 5 yo ds, and almost 13 yo ds) LOVED it. In fact, my older son enjoyed the meal so much that he has put it on the top of his "must do" list for our October trip! Dd loved the music and belly dancer. As I've posted in the past, the CM's here are EXCELLENT with children. My ds bopped his head twice while climbing up onto his seat (his fault -- not the restaurant's). He screamed!! I was about to take him out of the restaurant when one of the girls motioned that she and another CM wanted to take him. They took him next door to the Kidcot station to make a mask, then gave him a bowl of ice cream when he returned to the table (after asking us for permission, of course). Throughout the meal, CM stopped by our table to chat with our children, calling each by name! The service and food here was top notch! I heartily recommend Marrakesh to other families.

My kids love the food there butthey eat cous cous at home since their dad is Morrocan. They have the ususal kids menu items.

We ate there last week and they have regular tables. My son had a hamburger & FF and loved it. I had the Morrocan Appatizer for Two as my main course and really enjoyed it. My husband had the beef kabobs and also liked it. The belly dancer keeps everyone entertained. We ate lunch at 1:00pm and there was only about 10 tables being used. It was like having a private dinner. The iced mint tea is EXCELLENT!!!!! ENJOY!

Don't worry - my DH says to tell you that he had a co-worker that took his family there in June, 2004. They all sat together without a problem. As an aside, his friend is Syrian and really loved the place because it was the closest thing to home-cooking that they could find in WDW.

My son has been eating there since he was 8 - he loves it! He likes the beef shishkabob the best.
