Should I request a specific dining room at BOG? There are 4 of us (me, DH, DD(7), DS(6)). We'll be celebrating our 19th anniversary for dinner so I was thinking the Ballroom would be nice, but the kids might like the West Wing better.

I'm not sure though, maybe you can't even request a room. Help please :confused3

You can ask when you check in but there is no guarantee. The place is so popular that they put you where a seat opens. We had 3 tables 2 went to the Ballroom and I went to the West Wing. The ballroom is beautiful but I thought the West Wing was quieter and more romantic. It is darker. You have to walk through the ballroom to enter and leave the castle so you will get to see it if you do not get seated there. The West Wing is much smaller. If you are seated in the ballroom they have no problem with you visiting the West Wing.

You can ask at the podium when you check in, but the West Wing is much smaller than the ballroom so if the CMs are accepting requests it may mean a much longer wait.

I'll try requesting at the podium but will be happy with whatever we get.

My DH also went over to them early in the day before our dinner ADR and requested the WW. He asked again at check in. We did get it, but we also had a pretty late ADR. If you're walking by it might not hurt to head over earlier as well!

When we went, they wouldn't take room requests...but I think this has become the exception vs. the rule. We sat in the ballroom and really liked it. While the West Wing is neat, there was so much foot traffic in there from people touring the place + it's very dark. I know that doesn't bug everyone, but I like a little more light in the room when I'm eating. I guess I also just really liked the opulence of the ballroom as well as the falling snow.

In July we were seated in the Rose Gallery for dinner. It was bright and fairly peaceful. It is only at lunch you can choose where you are sitting but no harm asking. Although we were celebrating our 16th anniversary we did not get any grey stuff so if that's important it would be worth reminding them on the night.

I was viewing "The Library" on Trip Advisor, that area does not look as intriguing as the West Wing & Ballroom, has anyone eaten dinner in that section?

I just scored our 11/16 BOG dining reservation for 5:10 pm today. I have been trying for the week of 11/16 thru 11/22 for quite a few months now & finally our arrival date 11/16 at 5:10 pm opened up !!!! What a great way to start off the vacation, very excited !!!! :cool1:

The Library is not a dining room, unless it's being confused with the Rose Gallery, but I don't recall the Rose Gallery being themed as a library. I believe the Library is the room where ordering takes place at lunch, and the Beast meets at dinner. I've seen that room called the Study, but not the Library, so I'm not sure.

This is correct

Oops, sorry, I meant the Rose Gallery, what are your thoughts on that location.
It seems like the hot spots are the ballroom & west wing, the photos of the Rose Gallery section do not seem as grand per review of the photos online & seem less requested by the folks dining there- what is anyone's thoughts on the Rose Gallery section?

When we ate there in January they only used the Rose Gallery for lunch seating and the West Wing was only for dinner and the Ball Room was used for both. This may have changed since then. We were seated in the West Wing and loved it, while the ballroom is beautiful it is very loud and cold feeling. Hope you enjoy your meal, we loved the food and the gray stuff was delicious!
