Has this ever really happened to anyone? I have seen a few times in making reservations that a certain time has posted "your party may be seated at two separate tables". I was just wondering if anyone has booked a ressie like that and ACTUALLY seated at two tables.

How big is your party?

They put this disclaimer on a lot of reservations online. It's even turned up on reservations for one. It's standard language. I would say you don't have to worry about it unless you have a large party, maybe 8 or more.

We have a party of 5 for Hoop de do revue. Thanks for the info; I've never heard of that for a table of 1.....that's pretty funny :rotfl2:

We are a party of 7 and that's how my ressies are all stated. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll put my kids at a different table....across the restaurant...jk :lmao:

It's happened to me on reservation with a party of four - I changed the time a bit and it went away. I can't see how a party of four would be split up though :confused3

The ADR's I just made all said that because we are a party of 6. When we check in, though, and see that 1 is a toddler and 1 is an infant, I'm sure we won't get split up.

2 years ago we were a party of 7 (1 infant at the time) and never got split either.

I'm not worried about it, I was just wondering if it ever actually happened where a party was split up when they got to the restaurant. Doesn't sound like it :goodvibes Thanks for all the responses.

Not only has it happened to us, but we were never even warned. Our party consisted of 9 adults plus one infant in a high chair. It was a character meal and we saw several other parties of our size seated together at large tables. However, when our ADR came (about 1/2 hour after the time we'd reserved) we were lead to two tables back to back, not even next to each other that could be pushed together. No one told us, and when we asked, we were told that if we insisted on one table, we'd have to wait at least another hour. Needless to say, we were NOT happy campers.

We were a party of 8 and seated at 2 seperate tables at the Castle.

We were a party of 6 and seated at 2 seperate tables at Coral Reef. The tables were across the isle from each other.

I went to San Angel Inn in July by myself and they seated me at a table in the corner. After I'd been there awhile a large party of about 10 people came in and were shown to the table next to mine, and one directly behind that. One woman in the party had a fit. She demanded to see a manager and told him that he could move me since I was just there by myself and it didn't matter where I sat, and take my table and push it against theirs so their group could sit at the same table. To his credit, the manager refused and they had to take the two tables.

If this gal had asked me, nicely, if I minded being moved so her party could sit at the same table, I might have volunteered, but the way she went about it there was no way I was going to move for her party. Just a thought for those who end up with the two tables.

Oh my heavens. That is terrible (that she was so rude). I wouldn't have moved after that either. Goodness. So glad the manager did the right thing. Hope you enjoyed your meal anyway. My husband LOVES San Angel Inn. :yay:

I've actually had the opposite happen at the CRT. When we went in Sept/Oct last year, a friend of mine from work was also there with her family. We both had 8:00 am ADR's and since they could tell we knew each other, they sat all 9 nine of us at the same table instead of at 2 different ones.

not sure how having 2 children in a party of 6 will guarantee you won't be split :confused3 That means there are 4 adults...so plenty of ways to split the party and make sure the children are not alone. If your ressie says you may be split..then you may be split, kids or no kids.

Yes, it's happened to us several times. We were separated at Coral Reef, the Castle (twice), and the Plaza Restraurant. We were parties of 8 or 10 on those trips.

I have made all our adr's for party of 6 for nov/dec trip and have never had this come up on any of our reservations. So does that mean there may be a chance we get split up even if not stated when making reservations?

We were a party of 14 at the beginning of the wk and 11 by the end of the week and we were split at every adr.

This was fine, we were warned ahead of time and we realized how large a party we were.

The tables were always right next to each other...
