I have never cruised before and so far, my visions of our upcoming 7 night west coast cruise resemble a cross between the Love Boat and everything I have been able to assimilate here!

Is there a "Captain's Table" at dinner? Can you be invited to eat there? Is it a a particular restaurant on the ship?
Just Curious... our wedding anniversary is during our cruise, will that help our chances of getting invited to HIS table? If there is ONE?
thanks again for the insight and advice! :boat:

The Captain does invite people do dine with him...not sure if it does it every cruise or not....but we were lucky enough to be invited on one of our 7 day cruises. We received a phone from his assistant asking if we would like to join the Captain for dinner...we also got a printed invitation. Dinner was to be held up in Palo (that is where he dine's with people...so we were told). We met 3 or 4 other couples up in Palo and were waiting for the Captain, but unfortunately he never made it to dinner because of a ship emergency. The VP of DCL was also on that cruise and filled in for the captain...not the whole dinner, but he would sit for a few minutes at time and check on us. All drinks were comped, the women all got a rose, all couples got a keepsake signed, dated menu that had the longitude and latitude of where we were at sea during dinner...each couple also got a group photo.

We were very disappointed that the Captain could not join us after all, but we still had a very special evening in Palo. Still don't know how or why we were chosen...niether did any of the other couples!!!
