Hello All!
My friend is taking his girlfriend to the world on 8/6 - 8/13. 3 Questions: How bad are the crowds? How hot and humid is Floridian sun? AND where can they get the cheapest park tickets?...I suggested sitting through a timeshare presentation but I wasn't sure on how cheap the tickets would be or how long the thing would take. Thanx!

NEVER do the timeshare option if you can help it! They usually take 4-6 hours, they are extremely hard sell, and you usually end up with a one day / one park ticket.

Early August will be hot (low-to-mid 90s) and humid (80-85% daily), with rain most afternoons for an hour or so. Crowds will be heavy, but manageable -- some of the Florida schools start in early August, so that helps pull the locals away. Do keep in mind, though, that the crowds will make it seem much hotter than it is, because you won't necessarily get a lot of breeze if you're standing in a crowded part of the park.

They could try for tickets on eBay, but remember ... you can't tell if tickets are valid just by looking at them. You could end up buying what you think are partially-used park hoppers, only to discover they have no days left on them. It's definitely a "buyer beware" situation. Be sure to check the eBay ratings on the buyer.

We found the least expensive tickets for what we wanted (4 day hoppers) to be at the Disney Store, not much that less than any where else but convenient to have them before getting to the park.

I would recommend in the summer to go to parks at opening or Early Entry, especially at MK. You can switch to another park later in the day when it gets too crowded.

As far as timeshare tickets, my brother in law bought 1/2 price tickets when he agreed to go to a Bonnet Creek timeshare presentation that he signed up for at the Hampton Inn, where he stayed after a late flight. That's a pretty good deal but he did end up buying a 4 bedroom timeshare, so I wouldn't think he exactly came out ahead;)

The weather will be very hot and humid, as everyone has already pointed out. Drink LOTS of water!

For park tickets, it's not a good idea to get them on eBay, you really don't know what you're getting. There are several ticket brokers with legitimate tickets and well below what you'll pay at WDW. Just to name a few that I've used: Ticketmania.com, floridaorlandotickets.com and paramountinternational.com.

I've used all 3 of them and have never had an problems.

Good luck and enjoy!

We did the timeshare thing once for free tickets to Epcot...

It took 4 hours... we were there from 8:30am-11:30am.. wasn't too bad...
We did see a very nice property and got free breakfast too...

But I don't think I would waste my time again!
