Season 7 of 'The Next Food Network Star' stars tonight at 9pm!

My son and I watched it. The only one that stood out is Orchid. I honestly felt like no one really popped as being someone I could watch. Reeeeallly dislike Penny. Just a really odd concept.

Penny is awful, she did not talk to Alicia and and she already hates her
Orchid and Whitney are my favorites

I was expecting Right Said Fred's song to come up during her schtick...

I'm too sexy for my car
Too sexy for my car
Too sexy by far
And I'm too sexy for my hat
Too sexy for my hat
What do you think about that?
:rotfl2:

What's HYSTERICAL is there is NOTHING sexy about her :confused3

I like little Orchid, she's adorable. Alicia is already on my last nerve, how do these people get thru the audition??? Juba??? What???? :confused3:confused3

:rotfl:
I kept thinking the same thing. How in the world can someone so un-sexy design a show around being sexy?!?!

I think the fact that Alicia used to be a model instantly turned Penny against her. Funny, since she said she was so comfortable with her curves...but her actions (jealousy, perhaps?) towards Alicia showed that her opinion of herself is just an act. Penny - unattractive outside, and unattractive inside, as well. Can't wait until she goes home.

I was thinking the same thing. Its pretty clear that Penny is not as secure in her "sexiness" as she claims to be. I'm not a huge fan of Alicia but I sure hope she's around alot longer than Penny!

Seriously-wanting to buy beer instead of getting the high quality ingredients that somebody else needed. Geez.

::yes:: And I like Vic, too - IF he can cook! :rotfl2: And it sounds as if Juba can cook, he just doesn't have the presentation skills yet. The judges really liked his food.

Howie? He's never failed at anything before? Is that because he's so good at getting people to 'help' him, aka do a large part of his work for him? Yes, Jyll spent too much time doing for him, but I hope when (if?) he watches the show, he sees how much help he needed, especially in comparison to all the other contestants. .

It's all in perspective, I guess. Growing up in Pennsylvania, and visiting Hershey every year, to me nothing can beat a good old fashioned (cheap) Hershey Chocolate Bar. On the other hand, I'm a complete beer snob, so, in my case, I'd take the S'more with the cheap chocolate, and a nice 6-pack. :rotfl:

FWIW - I'm also a pretty big choco-holic, too, and I've tasted my fair share of terrible $6.00 bars in my lifetime. Just because she was paying more for the chocolate, didn't necessarily mean it was going to be better.

But it really doesn't matter if it was going to be better. If it's what she wanted for her ingredients, then that takes priority over buying something extra that isn't part of the competition.

It just seemed really unprofessional to me. I mean, I know he didn't have a fit or make a big deal about it but it seems odd to me it would even be a question.

It seems to me there is gonna be a bit more Drama this season. I will say I enjoyed the challenges this week thought they were good ones.

Kae

had a bit of drama here and actually missed the last 5 min of when they were going thru the bottom groups - and who went home! (and fell asleep during the rerun!!)

so I'm going to "hide" it in white as I had to go internet searching, and I know this is a spoiler free thread - what with others watching DVR's I dont want to upset anyone but
Howie went home - keep the drama, uggg

Exactly. It doesn't matter whether you agree with her chocolate opinions or not. He wanted someone else to sacrifice an ingredient from their lst so he could have a 6 pack of beer. What a tool! It has nothing to do with perspective and everything to do with respecting your fellow contestants and acting like a professional adult instead of acting like some dud who just showed up to a frat party.

We DVR'd it and I can't wait to watch!!

Way too much drama way too fast for my tastes. We don't even get a chance to learn the names before the daggers came out! And they focused only on the drama - I may like Orchid &/or Whitney - they were very good in their promos - but I really can't tell because they got such little air time!

Unless things get better, (more Food Network and less Real Housewives, this may be the first season that we don't watch the show through to the end.

Vic Vegas looks very familiar. Maybe he was on Hell's Kitchen or another reality food show? I have seen him somewhere. I also think there is gonna be more drama this year. I can't wait!

I know he did one of the Food Network Challenge's, it was the catering one. I am pretty sure he won.

The only thing I could find right away was that he was an assistant chef for someone who won a Food Network Challenge back in 2008. Perhaps he's been on there a few more times? :confused3

Hate is not sexy. Wish Penny was gone. I'd rather see the real competition than the drama.

You are exactly right. Now I remember him and yes he did win. I knew he looked familiar. I hope he sticks around. He's very attractive.

He is some nice eye candy and doesn't seem like he is going to be into all the drama. I felt really bad for him with not being able to complete his dishes.

Penny really does have to go, but sadly I think she will be around for awhile.
