Why do I keep getting this message from "Search" no matter what I type in????

I just tried the search and it worked fine, suzy. I know you can't search for a word or name less that 4 letters. Is this something new or has it always done that for you? What were you trying to search for?

It's happened to me quite a few times, it happened awhile back and I thought the site might just be having problems. Then I tried it again today searching for a post "Is the DC worth it?" (I didn't use the quote marks) and I kept getting the message. ~~

When searching for a phrase, if any of the words are less than 4 characters you will get that message. What I do is use just the words from the phrase that are 4 characters or more.

The words that you use do not have to appear in the same order or even be next to each other in the title or post to match your search. However, the search will want to find all the words in your pharse in the title or post to call it a match so the more words you use the harder it will be to match (or the more it will narrow down the results of your search).

You can also use AND, OR & NOT in your search to refine it. For example, if you wanted to make sure and find all the threads with "discounts" or "worth" or both use discounts OR worth as your search.

If you know that the word(s) or phrase that you want to find are in the title, under Search options select Search Titles Only and the search will go much faster.

If you know who posted the thread or reply you are looking for, add their name under Search by User Name and that will narrow it down even more.

You can use any or all these things together when searching to narrow down the search results.
