I don't know if this is the right forum, sorry if it's not.

My daughter just got a back brace for scoliosis and they told me to get seamless t-shirts to fit underneath. My neice had one years ago and the doctors office provided them for her (insurance paid). We've been to several stores and cannot find t-shirts that are seamless down the sides. The cami that she is wearing now has seams and it is hurting her. Anyone have experience with this or just happen to know where to purchase these tshirts. Oh and they need to be cotton.

Thanks. :goodvibes

Honestly? Try boys or mens' white underwear t-shirts. Seamless all the way around the body. Usually come in a 6-pk for $10-15.

I think the shirts at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores are seamless and you can get them in different sizes and colors.

This is really interesting to me since we have been to the dr several times to evaluate my DD for the same thing. They are watching her growth patterns for now. If you don't mind me asking, how old is your daughter and when did they first notice her issue?

I often work with back surgery patients who have to wear TLSO braces. Most often we recommend mens tank style t-shirts (aka wife beater t-shirt)as they are close fitting without extra material to bunch up and rub.

My daughter wore a brace at night for 6 month. The men's tank tops were the most comfortable for her. She actually had trouble sleeping once she didn't have to wear it. She said it made her feel safe!! She is 15 and has been released until she is 17. He wants to do a check before we goes off to college. She has about a 30% curve in the lower spine. Noticeable only if she wears a 2 piece swim suit.

Our daughter was diagnosed three years ago. Tomorrow we are heading back to the doctor due to pain. It comforts me to know that she is not alone. Best wishes for all.

I wore one of the braces when I was a teen. Men's undershirts were the best thing I found to wear underneath.

My daughter was diagnosed almost two years ago. April 28th it will be 1 whole year since she has been wearing her brace for 20hrs a day:scared1:...WOW!!! I can hardly believe it has been a whole year!!! My daughter has worn camis underneath her brace and we have found that almost all of her shirts were ripping from the velcro straps and the screws on the back of the shirt. Mind you that she likes to wear the fitted shirts that teen girls like to wear from stores like Aeropostale and Hollister. These shirts are not cheap to continually replace!!! :scared1: MAJOR BUDGET BUSTER!!! We have found that if she wears a strappy girls shirts (like the mens tank tops) from Justice over top of her brace, the shirts done tear!!! Now this makes her hot in the warm months and I dread hearing her complain, but she wants to wear what everyone else wears and fit in...what 13 yr old doesn't. ANY questions, please pm me!:flower3:

Please take this post with some patience. It is 1:50 am and although I think I am wide awake I very well may not be.
I just got rid of all my info! DS Used to wear the Boston Style one. Check with the Shriners, yes they are more expensive but that is all DS would wear! They are about $25 each :scared1: but are specially made to pull moisture away thus limiting shaffing.
We go to the one in Springfield, MA, not Boston, Springfield. I am sure they would be more than happy to help. :wizard:

My daughter wore a brace from the age of 5 to 12 - 24/7. She has had two operations - one when she was 10, this was a 'stapling" surgery. It didn't work for various reasons so when she was 12 she had the rods put in. The Shriners Children's Hospital in Philidalphia is where she had the surgery.

She wore a tube under her brace. At first we tried the various tank tops, boys undershirts, the cami - they all moved under the brace. We got the tube from the office that did her brace. They were wonderful!!!

She's 13 now & it's one year (almost exactly) since her surgery. She's doing great!

The page isn't loading at the moment, but I have a friend that makes/sells bodysuits for wear under scoliosis braces. It's embracedincomfort.com

If someone is interested and the site doesn't go back up, PM me. I can find a different contact.

I have 6 tshirts to give to a wearer of a TLSO back brace. My neice wore them, they are sleeveless, white, and seamless. She got them from Shriner's Hospital, where she got the brace. She has had back surgery and is now out of the brace but the tshirts are good and if you pay the shipping, I will gladly send you the shirts.

They would be for a weight of between 80-100 pounds. Call me at 218-790-5277
