I am taking my Wife to WDW for her 40th birthday at the end of the month.
She is a big Seafood fan, especially Sushi.
Can anyone give me a recommendation for good Sushi and Seafood at WDW?

I've heard that the California Grille is good. Opinions?

I've also heard that Kimonos at the Swan Hotel is good. Opinions?

I vote for Flying Fish on the boardwalk or Wolfgang Puck Cafe at DTD. I had the best sushi ever at WP.

Komono's to me has the best Sushi on property. Wolf Gang's is right there with them. As far as seafood I recommend Todd English Bluezoo. I hate frozen seafood(living on the ocean) and will never eat at Fulton's or Capt'n Jacks. I have had both good and bad meals at Flying Fish.

We like the sushi at Wolfgang Puck and Kimono's at the Swan. WP has awesome desserts too, so that would be my choice for a special meal.

Even though it wasn't on your list, I want to comment on Matsunoma in the Japan Pavilion. Sadly, I can't recommend their sushi. We used to enjoy eating there a lot. The sushi wasn't great, but it was good and the setting overlooking WS was great. The sushi quality has really gone down in the last year or so and we have written them off for the time being.

Enjoy!

My husband had the "Snake In The Grass" at CG, and although he ate it (he'll eat anything!), he didn't like it. He generally likes sushi, but I think this was a little fishy for him. Don't know if that reflects on all the sushi dishes there, though.

A HUGE vote for the Cali. Grill -- they have a sushi sampler plate that it absolutely positively out of this world! Plus, for such a special birthday, the atmosphere is unbeatable! Last month, I had the sushi sampler plate as my appetizer and then the most incredible Asian noodle fish dish imaginable -- one of those where my DH (even though his dinner was great) wished he'd ordered what I had. Their entree menu changes so frequently that you won't know exactly what's on it til you arrive, but that sushi sampler has been there since 2003 and you can be sure there will be some delightful seafood entrees.

I've had sushi twice at California Grill and really enjoyed it both times (though the big bang roll was a little...well...big!). CG is a good place for a birthday celebration also. I took my DH for his birthday this year and we had a great time.
