Seafood Restaurant

While we enjoyed Narcoossee's we were just not "wowed" by it, especially for the prices they charge. IMHO Blue Zoo, Fulton's and Flying Fish offer a much wider selection and the overall quality of ingredients is far superior. FWIW, Blue Zoo is probably one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.:thumbsup2

I'd go with either Coral Reef or Narcoossee's - both were excellent with the seafood.

I would say any of the above places EXCEPT the Coral Reef. We've had horrible horrible horrible service there both times we went. Never again.

Mari Disney, what was your experience at Coral Reef? Can you give more details? Just curious to know.

Flying Fish is so much more than seafood. It was actually named for a car on a roller coaster in the NE...hubby thinks jersey shores. Can't remember right now. Restaurant, while it has a lot of seafood is meant to be upscale american cuisine.

It's a seafood restaurant. It has some non-seafood dishes on it, just as every seafood restaurant in the world does, but with 80% of the menu being seafood dishes, that makes it a seafood restaurant. California Grill is "upscale american cuisine." FF is a seafood restaurant.

I love Fultons, find Narcoossees to be just so-so and do not like Coral Reef at all.

We have given Coral Reef a few chances and won't be back. We ate there the last time in December. We had an early evening ressie and waited a long time to be seated. The server was rude and overwhelmed, dinner (which did not include dessert) took nearly 2 hours, the restaurant was too noisy to even carry on a conversation and DH and I can't even remember what we had. For the $$$ there are better options on property.

If you eat at Fulton's for dinner, I recommend asking for the constellation room upstairs.

Another yummy option is the Cape May Cafe clam bake.

It doesn't have all the traditional seafood options but it is all you can eat claims, mussels, fish, and shrimp... and it is sooooo good. :thumbsup2
Plus it's only 1TS/dining credit, not nearly as expensive as most of the good seafood options.

Always a must do for us.

Coral Reef was just "okay" to us too, but the atmosphere is great, especially if you score a seat right next to the tank.

DH and I are foodies, we felt the food was rather bland, nothing spectacular about it. Service wasn't great, I think our server was new or something. But we would go back for the atmosphere, DS6 loves fish tanks.

I would put pretty much every resturant listed in this thread ahead of it in terms of food quality...

We loved Narcossees! we did not enjoy Coral Reef at all. ANd from Narcoosees you can see Wishes , everyone goes out on the deck to watch!

You could also have your dinner & plan to be finished just before Wishes, so you can go out & sit on the dock, you can watch there!

Sure...last Sept. was our most recent visit. Although the room is beautiful it is so loud you can barely hear yourself think. I know it's Disney, and I know there are kids everywhere, but this was insanity. Our server discouraged me harshly from ordering an appetizer because we were on the DDP and would have to pay out of pocket. She literally acted as if I was a fool. Next, when I said what I wanted for my entree she replied "Oh, that smells so bad, no one likes it. Are you sure you want it?". Um, yes, yes I do. Then we didn't want to order dessert with our apps and entrees. She was completely put out. She literally threw the menus back onto the table and stormed off in a huff. I was as polite as I could be when I said we'd prefer to order dessert after our entrees. Her behavior was uncalled for. Of course, then we had to hunt her down to order dessert and she repeated how we were foolish and difficult for not ordering it earlier. Then, we had to wait at least 20 minutes for the bill. The food was good, but the experience was absolutely horrible.

On our first visit several years ago, I don't remember the details, but I do remember leaving and saying never again. We decided to give it one more try on this last trip. But, we have learned our lesson.

And you said nothing to management??:confused3 Did you write a letter.? The thing that I hear a lot about on these boards is folks complaining about the service at a restaurant at Disney, {and in your case, you received REALLY poor service} but they never seem to take any action on the problem, such as talking to the manager before leaving the restaurant, or at the very least, sending a letter. If I received really bad service ANYWHERE, not just at WDW, I would ask to speak to a manager. Not that it happens very often, but you really need to act on this right away.
