Which would you pick? We live very far away from a sea world. Is that worth the money or should we do the water park(s)? THanks

I've always wanted to do SW but never have. I hear wonderful things about it.

We love the water parks. Well, TL mostly. I guess it depends on what sort of a day you are looking for...

Sea World is awesome! They have a water park across the street, Aquatica. I spent more money at SW than any other park. You can buy food for the animals. It has a nice flow to it, also.:love:

Id do a water park over sea world any day!

You can look at each of the water parks and see which is a better fit for your family? A lazy river? A crazy zany ride? a swim thru a shark tank...a wave pool? they are both GREAT!

DD wanted to check out Seaworld but I can't justify $400 or more for one day family visit:confused3
I think I have her intrested in the dolphin things at EPCOT instead

We did Sea World last year and we were very disappointed. Other than Shamu, it was a bust. The rides are in horrible condition and the park was dirty. I doubt we'll ever do Sea World again. Just my .02

I did Sea World about 2 years ago and, in contrast to the previous poster, was pleasantly surprised. Not all the rides were up to par if you're going by Disney standards, but the animals are lots of fun and the park itself was very nice. I didn't find it to be dirty. I am sad that the new owners did away with the free beer tasting, but oh well!

That being said, I love the Disney water parks! My fave is Typhoon... I just dig the tropical feel, beachy music, the palm trees and flowering plants, etc. Blizzard Beach is not as lushly landscaped, and to me that makes a big difference!

I think a trip to the water park might be more relaxing than a day at Sea World (since you ca pretty much float around the lazy river and nap on a lawn chair if you so please). If that makes any difference to you.

have fun either way!!

:sunny:

I have done SeaWorld numerous times in the past. My last trip was in June of 2009. I would have to say that I was a little disappointed my last visit and won't be back for some time. All the shows seemed shorter than normal. The dolphin show was hijacked by divers making it a short dolphin show and a lot of diving. (I went to see the dolphins, not the divers) The exhibits were nice and the new rides were fine, but the shows just did not seem up to par.

Water parks are basically you playing in the water. Sea World is more like AK with a water basis. You get to see water-based animals. Ride water based rides.

Sea World is a one day park.

We love Sea World, however if you are going in August I would pick a water park. It is just to hot to sit in the stands in the heat.
