Thanks for that info. It makes me lean more towards a November trip. I just need to check hotel rates and crowd calendars.
If you are only available to go to SeaWorld up until November 20th, I would go in October. You will not see any Christmas stuff in November until the weekend after Thanksgiving. Some decorations will be up, but its nothing like what will be up the weekend after Thanksgiving.
October can be a great time to go especially for young kids. Weather is great, and if you go on a weekday, the park is dead. But, I would recommend going on a weekend in October so you get to take part in SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktakular. The SeaWorld Halloween event is for young kids unlike the Halloween events at Universal or Busch Gardens. Best of all, the Halloween event is completely included with park admission. Your son can even come dressed in a costume. There is trick or treating throughout the park, and special events like a kids dance party, coloring stations, meet and greets with costume characters and more. There are some additional costs like face painting and creating a Halloween cookie but it's still a great event.
Also for Halloween there is usually a special Halloween themed sesame street show and meet and greets with the sesame street characters.
The Halloween event is on
Saturday, October 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th as well as
Sunday, October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th
Spooktaculer weekends will be very busy, but most people who visit the park on spooktakular weekends are locals and they primarily stick to the trick or treating. So other shows and attractions shouldn't be that bad. Trick or Treating starts around 11am or noon and goes until park closing. The start time for trick or treating tends to change every year. If you want to do the Halloween event, the less crowded of the two days would be Sunday.
