Sea World in Feb.

We will be coming to Orlando this Feb. during school break; hoping to hit a bit of warm weather. We are from New England and hope to escape the deep freeze; so anything above 32degrees will be warm to us by then. We will not be doing Disney this time, we did it last November.

The two times my kids have been to Florida it was in Disney World. We never ventured out. So, this time I/we would like to do some non-Disney things like Sea World, Busch Gardens, NASA, the beach...

So, my questions:
Is there a better day to hit Sea World? Will everyone be at Disney during Feb. break?? Or, will the crowds be just as bad as Disney?

Any other suggestions as to what to do in Orlando?

We are not sure about Universal...

I should also note, this will be a lower-budget vacation, not the "Disney" vacation my kids and me are used to. We will have some days where we will do nothing except go to the pool (hoping it's warm enough). We rented a villa (also, new for us) so I was hoping to keep the price down by eating in some of the time.

Thanks for all of your help.

It doesn't really matter when you visit SWF. If you show up at 08:30am, you can be first into the park, go on Kraken/JTA, and the rest is shows.

In February, temperatures are 55 for the low, and 75 for the high. If a cold snap comes thru, it can be colder, about 50. I don't think you'll be swimming in a pool, but I have done water rides at the parks. I usually end up wearing 2 t-shirts and shorts. If it's colder, then a jacket and long patns until the afternoon.

If you rent a car, you could drive over to BGT. It's 75 miles and takes about 1.5 hours. Or you could catch the shuttle bus over from SWF. Info about that is at the bottom of my page here.

We there Friday in Feb '05 during Mass Feb break escaping the winter freeze. Crowds were fine nowhere near Disney crowds and although the weather was overcast in the high 60's that day it was fine.

BTW the rest of the week was in the sunny in the low 80's which above average for that time of year.

As far as other things to do, Universal is nice especialy if your gang is a bunch of thrill seekers (Roller Coasters, etc..) and NASA is fun too, although admittedly it was a bit over my 9 and 7 year olds heads.

Have fun!!! :wave2:
