Okay guys.. I need some help! Im a Disney nut who has spent every summer vacation with the Mouse for 12 years.. much to my dismay my kids don't want to do Disney this summer! They have begged and talked us into a 6 day/ 5 night vacation staying at the Nick hotel with tickets to Discovery Cove, Sea World, Aquatica, and Bush Gardens! Now Im trying to get excited about this vacation as my brain switches to 'planning' mode! When it comes to Disney I know where to stay, what to eat, and which rides to ride first, but Sea World is forgein to me.... I KNOW NOTHING! Any help would be greatly appreciated... Restaurants??? Whats the best time of day for what shows?? Are the dinner shows worth the money?? Anyone done both the Sea World Luau and the Disney one.. how do they compare?? Im just scared Im going to get home and realize I missed out on something!

im a seaworld Veteran :) been going over to SWF for 26yrs of my life. to get excited about SW- read my trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2339819

they open the parking lot at 8:30am and the park at 8:50am. so get there early. For dolphin feedings its 9am and 1pm but they change the afternoon feedings sometimes. If your a coaster fan Manta and Kraken are great, journey to atlantis is awesome.

*Show times- I usually do the first dolphin show (blue horizons)of the day. 2:00pm shamu show (the animals are more relaxed in early afternoon.) But Dont miss the Last shamu show of the night, try to get there 45 minutes before for the last whale show because everyone wants to see it..lol

Resturants..humm I've done mango joes, their pretty good. But if you want an interesting experience you can dine with shamu (check the Dine with Shamu FAQ thread)book it early, your kids im sure will enjoy it. What date are you planning to go to seaworld, I can help you plan out the day if you wish :)

You'll probably have a multi day pass, so will be able to do two days at Sea World. That means anything you don't do that you'd like to do in day 1 you can do in day 2. For park recommendations: First thing in the morning do the Manta and Kracken (if you want to try the coasters). Lines for these are light in the morning and get heavier later in the day. Make sure to get a show schedule when you enter the park and plan your day around the shows, getting to the show venue about 15 minutes before each show. They are all great and worth doing. An Orca show though is probably the highlight. In between shows visit the animal venues that you have time to hit in the area where you are. The shows are scheduled such that it's hard to hit them all in one day. We usually depending on how long the park is open do about three in a day, go back another day and hit the two we didn't do earlier and go see Shamu (Believe or Shamu Rocks) again (We can't get enough of Shamu). Personally, I think it's unnecessary to do the extra dinners, etc., and we usually don't do these. If you are only going to go one day and need to pick and choose shows, I'd do an Orca show (Believe or Shamu Rocks), Blue Horizons (the dolphin show), and Clyde and Semour (the Sea Lion show). This is a more relaxing park than many of the Orlando theme parks. The landscaping is beautiful, and I'd recommend taking your time rather than rushing around. You can see everything easily in two days.

By the way, Sea World is our very favorite of all the great Orlando theme parks. It's the only park we make sure to hit on every single visit.
