Does anyone know how much it cost to rent a sea raycer and how old do you have to be to operate one?

Last I rode one, it is in the $30 - $40 range for a half-hour, and you have to be 16 with a valid drivers license to drive one. (This is renting from the Contemporary location), I have heard other locations have slower boats with lower driving age limits.

I have to go ask my wife, but I think when we used them in October '08 the minimum age was 12 to drive one at Fort Wilderness. It may have been because our family was renting them all together from Fort Wilderness, so Mom and Dad were out on the water with our kids. We did the hour rental, it was around $60. Look for specials and coupons -- we had coupons for a "free" extra 30 minutes with a one hour rental.

They are a blast to use -- they go a LOT faster than I thought they would!! Certainly try renting them at least once. The cost can add up quick (we had 4 boats for an hour -- $$$ ouch!!), but worth it to at least try them out. Having two people per boat is fun, and will save some bucks.

I can't recall the cost, we had a voucher for 90 minutes at the 60 minute price. I will say though that DH and DS16 tried to rent one to share and it was far too slow to have 2 adult males on it. They ended up going back and getting a 2nd one and still thought they were a bit slow. But...they are speed demons.

We rented from WL as we were there during pool rehab so the rest of us were at the pool.

We are looking to rent one next week. Can you tell me where to get the discount coupons? Thanks!

If you get the Magic Your Way package, it comes in that.

My family loved them! We did an hour and a half - two boats. Got the free half hour on both boats. Rented from Ft Wilderness, you can be 12 to drive - but you have to be a certain height tall. My daughter is 11 and even telling them she was 12, she was too short. But one of the water cops stopped my husband, and said they must've forgotten to give her a wrist band. He gave her one and she got to drive :)

The Sea Raycers were actually one of the highlights of the trip for my family.
