Earlier this week Southwest had roundtrip flights in early Sept (4th to 11th) for $265 (Monday I think?) By Tuesday they were up over $300 and now are $329. However, now Delta has some for $265 RT (but $25 bag fee). Should we book now or wait it out?

We're going with another couple, she thinks we should wait, and I think we should book now before they all go up :confused3

I'd jump at $265 from Pittsburgh!

From Seattle?! BOOK!! We are lucky if we can get that from NH, on the same coast as Florida.

United is a little cheaper today (upper $250s). If you like a price and an itinerary, I always recommend booking it and don't look back. Prices fluctuate all the time, and you'll drive yourself nuts trying to anticipate their complicated algorithms.

If you want to pay a reduced price for bags on Delta, apply for the Delta American Express co-branded gold card. I think the annual fee is $95 (waived for the first year), and for that you get a free bag for up to 9 people on the same itinerary and priority boarding (overhead bin accessibility). There are other benefits (like SkyClub access for the card holder and up to 2 guests for $25, which is great for irregular operations since the gate counter could be backlogged if there is a weather delay, etc, while the SC is short).

If you get it and decide not to keep it, then at least you saved on checked bag fees for this flight.

I was thrilled to book for $242 roundtrip from Maine, I'd jump on $265 from Seattle! For the 20 bucks you "might" save, I'd rather just have the flights booked and be done worrying about it. I would book your flights, if your friends want to wait let them.

I agree with the other posters---JUMP ON THAT PRICE!

We live in upstate NY and can't get flights that cheap even being on the same coast.
