SE Mass DISers--Location for a Baby Shower

Hey Folks,

Youngest SIL on DH's side is expecting her first, and this family does baby showers in a BIG way. Now, this is also a family of 8 siblings, and between wedding showers, baby showers, and rehearsal dinners, we have hit quite a lot of the 'more well known' spots for these types of functions.

My MIL and SIL have both been going through a lot in their lives right now (MIL battling cancer, SIL's DH had a 'cancer scare' that turned up negative thanks be) so I told them I would start looking for locations.

So, has anyone attended a function lately where you really enjoyed the room and the food?

I will take any and all suggestions.

Yep, a small room or a hall. No one really has a house that is conducive to a gathering of this size (probably be around 50 or so). And, we figure if we have to rent a room, we may as well find somewhere nice!

Not sure exactly where you are looking but Johnson & Wales Inn in Seekonk is nice. They have various sized rooms and a pretty varied menu. That was my first thought but I'll keep my thinking cap on and see what else I can come up with.

I used the Tirell Room in Quincy for my wedding years ago.

The Ale House in Abington. We love their food, and they have a beautiful room right off of their dining area. I see lots of different functions there every time we go. I think you would be very happy there!

Jimbo's in Braintree seems popular for showers. Also, I've been to a couple at the Common Market in Quincy and the food has been delicious.
