SDV Aug. 27-30, 2009

Last year we started planning July 2007 for the 2008 SDV, so with 11 months, 3 weeks, and 5 days to go, (according to BAMBs countdown schedule, not that she is counting or anything) we are behind on our planning for the next SDV Crop. Next year it will be at the Contemporary

We all had a great time despite Fay. So who is in for next year? What are we going to do for shirt designs (it's a given we are doing tshirts)? Where are we going for our character breakfast? I think we mentioned Chef Mickey. ºOº. What do we want to do for swaps? I liked the idea of a Bazill Paper Swap and a layout swap. We have time to finalize that, but let's help the time go by between now and next Aug. for the SDV Crop!!!

Mom and I are definitely in, Denny is a strong possibility. Who else?

Swaps:
1. I loved the Bazill cardstock swap- so easy and gives you a great variety of paper to work with.
2. The layout swap like we did this year turned out so well. Although I don't have many pictures of the scrap floor so I need to borrow those from others. We neneed a layout for everyone to sign messages in the next one.
3. I would love to do a layout swap of "All about me" kind of like a circle journal sign in page- these could be the same size as the layout swap or they could be mini file folders or whatever.
4. A secret sister swap would be fun - if we have enough of us to pull it off.

Breakfast: Our area breakfast choices are Chef Mickey's, O'hanas, 1900 Park fare, and then in the park Crystal Palace, or Cinderella's Royal Table. In the park can be a problem depending on the ticket choices of some of our scrappers, with an annual pass it doesn't matter to me. I would love Chef Mickey's but we should be able to get one of the others if we can't get Chef Mickey's once we have a total.

T-shirt:
1. I agree with Buffy- lets do them for every day.
2. This year's design was great but I would love it if we could do a design we could order off of CafePress- maybe one of the ones with the words.

You're killing me! I am sitting here thinking, "Well, if DH's job situation works out, maybe I should cancel the family cruise so I can go to SDV Orlando".....I guess I won't be winning any Mother of the Year awards for this train of thought!

DH said I can go if I pay for it by not buying any more wine until after I get back - so THAT's not going to happen And it still wouldn't cover my spending when I get there, and it would be silly to go all that way and not spend a few extra days in the parks, and Universal.....so before you know where you are my family don't get a vacation because Mummy's spent all the money having fun in Florida

Maybe I'll do a CKU if they have one in the UK

I am in. I know my sister (Gail - #1 Mouse) has said she is coming next year. We were even talking about coming to Orlando earlier than the Friday morning we did this year. I can't believe we have to wait almost a whole year. Over on the SDV forum we have been asking Nancy to think about 2 SDV's in Orlando. Possibly one earlier in the year before spring breaks start and not during hurricane season!

I vote for Chef Mickey's for breakfast if we are definately going to be at the Contemporary.

Shirts - I liked our design because we were able to use Mickey. But I also like the idea of using Cafepress. Otherwise I may have to be sending mine to Buffy to do.

Pam, I don't think I ever thanked you for sending me the t-shirt design. I appreciated that it was already flipped. I can be so computer illiterate at times.

There are a ton of options for clothing- they even have thongs not that I would buy one but the option is out there. They have regular and women's tees and polos in a variety of colors.

We can make our own graphic and upload it and buy the made t-shirts from there- we just can't upload a graphic that has a copywrited character on it. It is made so you can upload your groups logo and sell things as a fundraiser but since there is no minimum to buy it makes it easy to use for people all over the place who want to make the same shirt.

Ooh, is there a possibility it will repeat at the YC? I would love to stay at any Deluxe, but even more so at the Yacht Club!

I'm thinking I'll set up a 2nd ING account to directly deposit, what did you say - about $60 a month (plus airfare)? That seems to work well for me. I love my existing ING account - I continued to pay my "car loan" into it after the car was paid off, so I have a big downpayment for the next car.

Could you change you cruise date so your family could cruise together and you could still scrap? I understand that finances can be an issue.

If its at the Yacht Club then I will find a way down there. If its at the Contemporary than I may come but will have to see how marathon training goes.
