SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

Question regarding transferring fast passes. Let's say my third fast pass window was 11am-12pm and I use it at 11:05, so as of 11:05 I have used all three of my FPs. If the fastpass that I want to transfer over to my party starts before 11am, or 11:05, but we are still within the fastpass window, can I still transfer that fastpass as is? Or does the time have to change since the fp window may have started prior to or at the same time as my third FP.

Thanks in advance.

I just partially tested this myself from home. I made a fast pass for 11:05 am today. Then at 11:15 am today I transferred it to other people.

Has anyone tried this in the park? Will it also work as your 4th, 5th, 6th fast pass of the day?

So, SDFP without CPFP will still be working, correct? Will trying to use a MB that doesn't have any tickets attached at the FP touch point lock your account? If we have the choice of that MB or a unused ticket, which would you be less worried about trying? We are really not wanting to deal with a locked account.

Thanks for any insight from those in the know.

Four ticketed family members are on one MDE. Only two are going to go on an upcoming trip. Is there a meaningful difference between just putting all four on the reservation or making the reservation just for the two and then using the umbrella method?

Sorry, just getting up to speed with this, so apologies if the question does not make sense.

The rumors are that both SDFP scenarios you mentioned 1. using non-ticketed phantoms and 2. using ticketed phantoms that have not entered the park would BOTH cause your MDE to get locked after these FP+ "enhancements" are implemented on or around 6/6.

CPFP came about as a workaround to utilize FP+ obtained day of, on a kiosk with non-ticketed profiles, that are first transferred to an actual ticketed person that entered the park that day. This would look like a traditional 4th, 5th, 6th, FP+ obtained at the tapstile and would not cause a lockout. This is just speculation as it has only been tested and used prior to the changes.

I have definitely definitely changed parties on a FP+ well into its window back in March, December, and October. marciemi has recently tested this and it is still working.

My head hurts.

I'm hoping this won't affect sharing FPs between guests all of whom have entered the park with a valid admission? We'll be there with DD and DSIL and we're planning on letting them use our MBs for FP. We'll all be in the park, DH and I won't be riding.

Another question:

In the first post of this thread I have seen two pieces of information. 1 is that SDFP can only be changed at a kiosk. 2 is that when these changes are implemented on or around June 6, if you book SDFPs at a kiosk, you can than use the change party feature to change the party to your primary passes, assuming you have already used your 3 passes.

The question is, does this transfer have to be done at a kiosk? Can it be done on the app or the website? And if so, does this mean that the fastpasses can also be updated on the app or website once they are transferred (since originally SDFPs could only be updated at the kiosks).

Thanks.

Trip coming up for 1 day on June 10th. I have 6 magic bands that are NOT linked in any way to my personal MDE. Actually I cannot access the MDE connected to them. Some of the extras were a friends old bands and 2 off ebay. (I used these wonderfully 2 yrs ago in parks) Can I still use to book sdfp and transfer to my main acct. Having no way to access tge MDE attached to the extra bands!??
I cannot do ANY early fp since I am picking up our 1 day tix the day before we go! Was counting on the sdfp to save the day! Any help pls!!!

At the time that was written, there was really no need to CPFP. It was much easier having a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc set of cards or band to manage that you could tap and have overlap your current, pre-booked set on your real bands. It worked beautifully!

When its mentioned that a SDFP can't be "changed" on MDE, that means the actual attraction and timeframe cannot be modified. You will receive an error message since there is not ticket linked. Currently, the only viable option on MDE is to delete the FP+ or change its party for something booked day of, on a kiosk, without a ticket.

The word "change" within CPFP does seem a little confusing, but thats because the term CPFP was only created just a few days ago, after all the original content was created about SDFP. As previously mentioned, there was no need for the extra work. You are still not able to change the attraction or timeframe of the CPFP+ on MDE until the party has been changed and it is on an actively ticketed person. Then you can treat it just like a regular FP+, because it is one!

Makes perfect sense. Thanks. So basically, I can go grab quick fastpasses for later in the day with my extra non ticketed bands, and when the time comes, switch them one by one to me? Right? Then when they are linked to my ticketed group, I can change the attraction, or time if need be?

As long as the magicband (more specifically, the account the magicband is attached to) was used to go into a park that day, all the fastpasses associated with that account are all now active and usable.

If four people all go into a park, all the fastpasses on all four accounts are live. If only two people want to use the fastpasses, that's fine. At worst, the two not using the FPs can hand their magicband over to the other two people, then those two can scan them in.

It's if your DH and you decide to not go into the park at all that day is when any fastpasses on your two accounts might run into snags.

Yes. The steps for booking/transferring another Tier 1 are in this Addendum.

The tips included in the Addendum are posts by @marciemi and me:

This is super helpful, thanks! I'm trying to follow closely because
we are going to be at Epcot the evening of June 6. My husband and kids will be there, all with APs. For us, I have scheduled:

5:00-6:00 Figment

6:00-7:00 Frozen for two, Soarin for three

7:00-8:00 Spaceship Earth

I also have three FPs for Test Track booked for 7:30-8:30 on my parents' phantom tickets (they won't be there) and my cousin's non-expiring ticket (he won't be there).

When we get there, I'm going to attempt to book SDFPs on my in-law's magic bands (they won't be there either and don't have tickets attached). We won't get there until later, so it'll probably have to be some Tier Twos, which unfortunately isn't as helpful for experimentation purposes.

I'm also going to tap three of the Figment FPs, but not the other two.

After we tap in to Spaceship Earth, I will attempt to transfer the pre-booked TT FPs (it's ok if the window is already open, right?). I'll try both to the profiles who tapped into Figment and those who didn't. I will also try transferring the SDFPs (if I was able to book them in the first place).

Anything else I should try? I'll follow the thread that day to see if the MDE lock-out is happening. I'm a little nervous about testing that one lol.

Thanks!

We'll all be in the park but DH and I were planning on just sitting with a beverage (or two!) while the "kids" use our MBs for FP for some of the headliners. (For example, to ride both of the new rides in Pandora on our AK day.) The Princess Half is the main focus and DD will only have a couple of park days which she'd like to maximize. I go all the time (I'll be staying on solo for a week or so after the rest of the family leaves.) and DH is not much of a ride guy.

Yes, that is 100% correct.
The accounts for the sdfp band need to be "friends" with the bands actually entering the park correct? Do I need to keep switching back and fourth between accounts on my phone? Or just stay logged onto the account linked to band that has entered the park, and make the switch from there?

We believe you're not going to be able to use those bands after June 6. They won't work for FP admission - and if you try it, you may lock your friends MDE. The only way to use extra FP from those extra bands would be by linking your MDE to those MDEs - but it sounds as though that won't be possible for you. Maybe you could ask your friend if they would accept a friend request from your MDE to theirs?

The way my MDE is setup is that ALL my phantoms are in my primary MDE with separate bands and cards. For my scenario, I am all set.

With multiple MDE accounts, the phantom account would need to be linked to the primary. For the easiest change possibilities, I believe each phantom guest would need to become "friends" with the primary planner. That way, you can do one big change party from the primary account and take all the phantoms off, and put the real people in their place. This would not require any logging out or back in to multiple accounts.

Only connecting to one COULD work. But you would need to change party multiple times per FP+. Phantom to linked phantom. Linked phantom to another real guest, etc. This would require logging in and out or having one MDE open in a phone web browser and the other in the app.

I know how to use SDFP. Done it many times. I have two separate MDE accounts. If these changes happen I know need to have these accounts be friends right? Previously we didn't want this to happen. What will happen if two people are the same on both accounts? Will the bands now be clones? Can I change the names on one of the accounts? We arrive on the 16th. Trying to make sense of all changes.

Yes, change the names on the secondary account so that no profiles will end up cloned. Then issue and accept friend requests between the MDEs so that you see all the names on the two profiles when you log into your primary.

I wonder if adding a suffix to the first name works to avoid the phantom account being merged with the real account like typing Jr or II right after the first name. What if the two MDEs have the same name but different addresses, will they get merged? TIA!
