Well, after the stress of staying at the kennel while we went to the beach (tummy issues, special diet now :( ) , we decided after reading all the positive threads about pet friendly rooms (thanks, robvia!) to take Scruff with us. He's a Shih-Tzu that doesn't know he's a dog (shhhh!). I called and we now have a "baby room" and I have great info about the US Kennel as well. I feel better now to know that he can stay at the kennel while we go to the Disney Halloween party and we can pick him up later that evening. Well, less than three months to go!

I am so happy you are taking your dog with you. My husband and I always take our Eskie Dante to the Hard Rock or to the Portofino. The staff loves him and they go out of their way to make Dante feel at home. I am sure you and your doggie will love it there. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. :cloud9:

great for you and him. I am taking brooklyn my 3 lb chihuahua tomorrow to the RPR 1st time for him but he loves the jersey shore when we take him on all vacations

I know what you mean. Molly's never stayed in a kennel, but she's stayed with a neighbor, & with my Dsis in NC twice while we were on cruises. She won't eat for anyone, when we're away. By the time we get home, she looks pitiful. She even pulls her hair out from stress. :sad1:

We take her on all our land vacations. Our ability to take her dictates where we go. We love Universal. :cheer2: Since getting Molly, we went from 4 straight yrs. of WDW APs, to spending our theme park time & money at UO. We'll be taking her with us to Daytona Beach also.

BTW, Molly doesn't know she's a dog either. That's because she's not. ;) She's my 4 legged baby girl. princess:

I'm glad to hear the positive responses. Since we've been home and he's been on the Science Diet I/D food and antibiotics (today is last dose) he's better. He loves the canned I.D (yuck, I hate canned food) but is not crazy about the dry, unless someone hand feeds it to him :sad2: . Dog is too spoiled for words. We have the Play For Four promotion, so I'm thinking now that we may go on down the day before after the girls get out of school so that we can start our vacation first thing Wednesday morning. Then it hit me yesterday, we'll have to find a pet friendly no frills place on I-Drive for Tuesday evening. Wow, I never knew so many choices were out there! I'm leaning toward an AmeriSuites close to US/IOA. Has anyone with pets stayed in one of them? The Marriott Residence Inn really sounds better but they hit you with a $75 non refundable pet fee :(. Truthfully that's crazy, almost doubles the cost of the room! This is a website that I found for the pet friendly hotels, http://www.pets-allowed-hotels.com/us/Florida/ORLANDO/index.html
