Screaming Means Fun: a disboutiquers trip report: Update Page 9!

I love your first post, I hope you have another installment soon!

Ugh, I had really meant to be more prompt than this, but other things got in the way. Thanks for sticking with me.

It always takes me a while to catch up on things, but I made it over...great TR! I am the same way about pools...my problem...I can't swim, so I am terrified something will happen to the babies! My DH does not get it!

Can't wait for more!

See, I can swim well, and the kids can too, but I have an irrational fear that something will happen and it will be quick. I haven't found a man who has "gotten" it yet!

Sorry so late Steph! I am so busy during the week that I can barely keep up with my Dising habit:rolleyes: . What a great trippie! I haven't been around the World at Epcot since I was in college and I barely remember it. Shocking I know. So I am really enjoying learning what to do there from you. I love the Belle and Bambi outfits too! Really cute! Meg is such a cutie pie! Everytime we see a pool, my kids and I talk about how "Megan in Florida" is probably swimming right now! :rotfl: Looking forward to more!!!!! Great start!!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Hee, since Megan will swim when the water is 50 degrees, that is always likely! Thanks for the compliments!

popcorn:: Can't wait to read more!!!

Thanks!

Hi! :flower3: I finally noticed the very large, very red link in your signiture. :sad2: Can't wait to read more and I just love that bambi outfit.

Oh sad story. We had an adventure this week when one of my dogs got a bunny one morning. Poor bunny ran into the fence 4 times b/c he couldn't find his way out. And my husband did nothing as it's the "natural way of things" :guilty: At least one hasn't made it into the house yet... not for lack of trying on Jasmine's part though. :scared:

Thanks, I just saw a Bambi shirt on the Disney shopping site, I guess they are catching on that they need more Bambi stuff. Finally!

We just found a bunny den in our yard! I don't think any will survive. My husband did try to save the remaining babies but I think that was for appearances. He feels more like your husband does.

Ok, I am going to get working on the next installment. Sorry for the delay!

Update: Epcot Day

IMG_0254.jpg

About their outfits: Jacob informs me two days before we leave he would like an Epcot shirt. He says, you know, like with the Epcot ball and then the words "Epcot" on it.

:headache:

Ok, wait, before I panic, I remember that a Disboutiquer made a perfectly cute Epcot shirt that did not look that hard to try to CASE (copy and steal everything, for non-disboutiquers). I manage to find some cute silver fabric and blatantly copy her design (thanks Elisa!). Her mickey heads were at a jaunty angle but Tom said he is not an "angle person," whatever that means, and he preferred them straight.

I found some cute space fabric (to go with Spaceship Earth) and made a skirt for Megan. I was going to make matching shorts for Jacob but that was vetoed. I can't imagine why an eight year old would have a problem wearing shorts that matched his little sister's skirt. At least he let me make him the shirt. As people complimented him on it, he was sure to tell them I made it from his design (sorry, Elisa!). I think they came out well for a last minute thing, except Megan's skirt was heavy and she was constantly hitching it up which as you can imagine is very attractive and not annoying at all.

Ok! Anyway...

The next morning my little rooster named Megan was up at 7am, while my sleepyhead boy slept in. I am never one for waking sleeping children, especially on vacation, so Tom offered to take Megan over to Epcot while I waited for Jacob to wake up. Megan had been dying to ride Soarin' since we got there so they were off. Almost immediately after they left, Jacob did wake up but he is a little like his mother and needs some time to shuffle around, eat breakfast and wake up.

Jacob and I headed to the park and went to Soarin' where we got a fast pass. I love the boat ride in the Land so we did that.

Look at the sunflowers!

IMG_0223.jpg

Pumpkins!

IMG_0230.jpg

After that we found Tom and Megan, who were on the Nemo ride. Next we headed to Spaceship Earth, which we really like now with the changes. Before, it was one of the only rides tame enough for Megan but bored Tom and me to tears. Now Megan wants to go on everything and they made the ride cooler. At the end of the ride there are cool games and stuff. It is embarrassing to note we lost one of the children down there, but I can't remember if it was Megan or Jacob. I am going to assume it was Megan, LOL. Obviously we found the child after some searching.

Quick, turn around!

IMG_0235.jpg

Megan told us she really wanted to ride Test Track so we headed that way to get a Fast Pass when we saw the sign: Down! Oh no! Fortunately, the kids love Ellen so we went to the Universe of Energy. Man, is that a long attraction! I had forgotten. Ellen's humor is right up Jacob's alley and he was quoting her the rest of the day:

You just think about that next time, mister.

Stupid Judy.

Hey, nice hair. Not you, you!

Anyway, our fast passes from Soarin' were ready but we were hungry after that 45 minute long adventure.

IMG_0236.jpg

Ok, before we headed back to Soarin' we checked on Test Track to see if it was up. It was.

Megan did not believe us. How do you know it's working, she asked.

See, the sign tells you what the wait times are and if the attraction is working or down, we told her.

She did not look convinced. As we got closer, Jacob told her, hear the cars going around the track?

She cocked her head. Oh yes, she said! Wait, do you hear the people screaming? Screaming means fun!

We were rolling. From then on out if she heard screaming coming from an attraction, she told us "screaming means fun."

Jacob disagreed, screaming means scary, he insisted. We all ignored him (poor guy!).

Anyway, we were off to Soarin' via the butterfly garden. I loooooove the butterfly garden.

IMG_0242.jpg

IMG_0245.jpg

Butterflies are hard to take pictures of!

IMG_0246.jpg

Wait, this one is easier.

IMG_0248.jpg

And look who was outside the garden.

IMG_0250.jpg

Ok, finally Soarin'! It's one of my favorites. Is this not the sweetest thing ever?

IMG_0253.jpg

Jacob added "nice job, pal" with a thumbs up to his repertoire. It's not annoying to hear that over and over at all!

The kids were ready for the pool, so I stayed behind to look at the topiaries. I also wanted to find a) sneakers and b) a swim suit.

a) Megan informed me that the expensive sandals I bought for the trip hurt her feet. :headache: She had crocs, but I thought I could easily find some princess sneaks to wear when the crocs were wet. Nope, no sneakers in Epcot. Actually there were some, but not in her size.

b) Jacob puts on a suit the day before and informs me it is a little tight. Let's see, what size is it? Oh, a 4T for an eight year old? :headache: I thought I could easily find a swimsuit in Disney. Nope, no trunks in his size at Epcot or the resort.

Anyway, I had fun walking around.

Next: The World Showcase again!

First, I will follow a shamless plug any day!:surfweb:

Love the shirts! They turned out soo cute! I may have to CASE the CASE!

I like the bags...that would be cute...:scratchin May have to see what kind of bag I can make for DD.

I love that you guys take time to really vacation...not rushing everybody out of bed...wish my DH believed in that one!:headache:

Can't wait to hear more!

Excellent!

Your DS is my kinda kid! I say that stuff too (but not repeatedly)

So did he just swim in shorts? :confused3 4T !!!! I just found some 4's in my 8 yr. old son's dresser too! WHY must they insist on growing???

We totally can make those cute little shabby bags!!!!

How big were they? I like the totes too.

HI Megan!!! princess:

Great update! I did not notice that butterfly garden when I was there  I love it just from your pictures! One day my DS8 had a sleepover at his cousins. The next day was church so I packed him some church clothes. We were going to my sister's church that day also. When I saw DS8 at church, his pants fit fine in the waist but were SEVERAL inches too short :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I guess I had packed DS5's size 4 church pants by mistake :scared: You'd think my sister might've figured it out and let him borrow some of his cousin's pants :confused3 I love the epcot shirts!

LOL, I have to say I don't feel so bad right now...my DS is almost 6, but quite small for his age. All his swim trunks and most of his shorts are 4/4t. I tried them all on him last week and that's the size he still needs!! The 5's are just too big, esp. for swim trunks. I was feeling bad/guilty about this for some reason, but obviously other boys wear sizes a long time too!!

those bags are really cute. wonder who will make one first, lol! The epcot shirts turned out cute too!
i am ready for more........ :rolleyes1

 the pictures! Especially the butterfly garden. And I can't imagine how that would get annoying at all..... seems like a perfectly enjoyable line. :rolleyes1

I really like the tote.....

have you got the next update done yet (can you tell I'm excited now?) :upsidedow

I'm lovin' your trippie! You take great pics and your kid's outfits are perfect!!!

Love it Stephanie! Poor Jacob, trying to tell everyone scraming means scary! :rotfl: Great job on the last minute shirts!

Ok, finally Soarin'! It's one of my favorites. Is this not the sweetest thing ever?

IMG_0253.jpg

Your kids are so absolutely PRECIOUS!! The picture of Megan and her daddy had me sniffling!!

Screaming means fun huh? That is universal...when Sally and Teddy were smaller I'd hear random shrieks and go running in search of whatever terrible thing was attacking them...I'd arrive all breathless and ready to do battle and I'd get a sweet smile and "Oh MissCammie...we were just screaming for fun!"

:lmao:

outfits were PERFECT!!! LOVE the mickey head wristlets!! I think I'll try and get a pattern so SallyRally Super Seamstress can make one!!!:cool1:

can't wait for the next installment!!!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Jacob- I think I'm going to like that kid! :lmao: I can't wait to meet you guys in May!

I know what you mean about not being able to find shoes at Disney. Tessa "lost" her shoes while we were at MGM (yes, it was still called that). According to her, they ran out in the road and got hit by a car. But, there were no more shoes to be found at MGM! We ended up finding ONE pair of shoes in her size in downtown Disney.

Thanks: I'm glad my shameless plug worked!

The shirts were super easy too. I was wishing I had made myself one too. Maybe next time.

I loved the bags and thought of my sewing buddies when I saw them.

I am cranky enough as it is, I don't need to add a tired child to the mix, lol!

Excellent!

HI Megan!!! princess:

Well, we do encourage him, so it is mostly our fault.

He brought two suits, one to wear and one to dry. He just had to wear his damp one each afternoon (which he was not happy about). I do not understand why he insists on growing, but I have had it pretty easy in the swimsuit department, seeing as he grows up but not out!

The wristlests were pretty big for a wristlet I think, maybe 5 by 10 inches. I liked that they were shabby.

Megan says, hi to my fans! princess:

Aw, I hope he wasn't too embarrassed by his high water pants!

Yeah, I almost wish they made slim sizes in swimsuits too. There are some he has (we took an inventory when we got home) that are too short because they are meant for little boys but fit fine around the waist.

I love that little wristlet. I think I can handle making something like that. I usually don't carry a bag around with me when I am at home so that would be the perfect size for me.

They are so cute: you could do it!

those bags are really cute. wonder who will make one first, lol! The epcot shirts turned out cute too!

Sally could make one, I bet! The only hard part would be the zipper.

Glad I got you sniffling, because that is the payback from all the sniffling I do at your reports!

Jacob- I think I'm going to like that kid! :lmao: I can't wait to meet you guys in May!

Poor Tessa, violence against shoes? I ended up giving up on the shoes because she found new crocs she liked better.

UPDATE: Fun at the World Showcase!

After fun in the pool (from which I was excused due to the previous day's trauma) we got dressed and walked over to Epcot. Seriously, the best thing about staying at the Beach Club (or Yacht Club or Boardwalk) is that it is a five minute walk to the park.

Chip and Dale often hang out by the back entrance to Epcot and we were lucky to run into them there. Megan was super excited to show Dale her pin:

IMG_0260.jpg

She put all her pins on her hat so she pointed to her Dale pin and he jumped up and down. Then he spotted Jacob and pulled him over. He read Jacob's shirt and got way excited. It is one of those snotty message t's that reads "Blame my sister." Dale started pointed at Chip and the kids asked if he blamed his brother. It was funny watching them have a conversation with a character. I didn't even know Chip and Dale were brothers! You learn something new everyday.

IMG_0263.jpg

We were off to Germany to try to get into Biergarten. The kids love it because of the music and Tom loves it because of the beer. After putting our name in, Tom and Jacob went into the shop to look at soccer jerseys and Megan and I saw by the wishing well.

IMG_0265.jpg

The little clock came to life: too cute!

IMG_0269.jpg

Then it was time to eat! The food there is ok and it is real chore to find something for Megan to eat. I miss the days I could just pack her a pb&j and not have to worry about it. I guess that's what made her the picky eater she is today! :rotfl:

We were off to watch British Invasion. Mommy and Daddy needed to sit while the kids ran around the hedge maze. We passed by a playground set up for the Flower and Garden Festival and I let the kids play a bit.

IMG_0274.jpg

IMG_0275.jpg

The sign stated the playground was for ages 2-5 but I let Jacob play anyway. He is so gentle with little ones and I was supervising. We still got kicked off by a CM. That's what we get for breaking the rules, right Miss Cammie? Another little girl was given the boot too, but she went right back as soon as the CM turned away. We did not, so we have some scruples!

Take my picture in the phone booth! I heard. Ok, sure.

IMG_0276.jpg

IMG_0277.jpg

British Invasion was awesome as usual. There was a non-tourist visitor as well.

IMG_0281.jpg

Megan said, good thing Scrappy isn't here or that bunny would be in trouble! :rotfl: She then said, that bunny is eating all the flowers! That's why Scrappy kills the bunnies, to protect the flowers.

I'm glad flowers rate higher on Megan's list of priorities than bunnies! After the band played, we walked back to our room and watched Illuminations from the balcony. We were all soon asleep!

Next: Magic Kingdom!

OH DEAR...rule breaking at Disney...yes it happens. Honestly though...I'm surprised y'all got nailed...I can't even COUNT the number of people I've seen smoking at Epcot...in non smoking areas...anywhere they please basically...and there isn't a CM to be found...but give em some little kids to have a power trip on an they jump on it?! LAME!!! Deal with the smoker problem first I say! Let darling Jacob play with his sister!

I do have to say that I am PAINED that poor Scrappy is so ANGRY at bunnies. He must have had a bad experience with them when he was small. He needs therapy. Seriously. Anger management courses would help him deal with his rage issues and then perhaps there wouldn't be any more bunny rabbit carnage. Seriously.

*ahem*;)

as my granddad would say "You can't take the hunt out of the hound"...

then again if Beau-Jack ever came in contact with a real bunny he'd probably just try to sniff it's tail...or assert his dominance...He LOVES to do that.

boys.

Love the pictures!!!!

I have that SAME picture in the phone booth!:thumbsup2

Just found your "shameless plug" on the disboutique!:thumbsup2 How, o, how, did I miss your TR so far? I love it! Great wit & writing!! We want more please!!!:dance3:

I loved the special meet with Chip N Dale. I thought they were cousins or something? No idea they were brothers. :confused3

Your epcot Tees were awesome!

Can't wait to read about how your shopping adventures pan out for the shoes, suit & such! Are there no Wally's or Targets near by? Do tell what you ended up purchasing or making for shoes & suits. ;)

Good Scrappy, protecting your flowers like that!!!! Brave brave dog!

The playground looks like fun! Too bad they kicked Jacob out.

I have often went up to people at Disney and helpfully directed them to the smoking sections!

I didn't realize that Chip and Dale were brother's either. I just thought they were friends. What about the girl, is she a girlfriend or a sister? (Clarice???)

Love the update! I must admit that I'm not a "stand in line to see characters" kind of gal, but after hearing cute experiences like this, I may have to change my mind. :upsidedow

Scappy must be a VERY good guard dog to watch after your flowers like that. :goodvibes I'm very impressed.
