Scrapping with Swapped Items Challenge rlovew is the winner

Happycampers,
I need instructions and measurements on Abu!!! I want to replicate him since I wasn't in that swap!!! :) I have some great elements for Magic Carpet that I made awhile back..and would love to have him on my page!

Here are some Incredible layouts for my kids' books. The first one has a shaker box and pocket from momx3boys. I used the pocket for the autograph tag. The second two each have a tag and a photo mat that I believe rlovew made. (Correct me if I'm wrong so I can give proper credits.) They were from the Nemo and his Pixar Friends swap.

Looks great, I love to see someone using something I made. :)

Everyones pages look great. I haven't managed to get anything scrapped since this one started but I am mostly swap sorted now so maybe next month I'll be on the ball.

I love seeing how everyone used some of the items I also have and then seeing some of my pieces on a couple pages is fun too.

SIOH, love yours too. I'm so glad someone uses the things I made. :)

I think everyone did a great job and it has been fun to see what you come up with.

I didn't write down exactly what I did, but I can try. From top to tail, ZooBalloo Abu measures a little more than 3.5", so I think I must have set it on 4". I cut a dark brown shadow, a tan monkey shape, then did the monkey sillhouette with a caramel color from Archiver's (love those coupons). I liked silhouette better than the layers. It just looked funny the other way. With the tan monkey base, I cut off his arms and tail (don't worry, he took it like a trooper) so that it would be easier to line things up when I glued the sillhouette on top. I punched out holes using my eyelet punch (it was handy) from the dark brown color. From there, I had to experiment to make a vest and fez. The largest mat on the rug was 3"x1.5". I used Fiskars "seagull" shape scissors to get the edge on the smallest color on the rug. Then I added a liitle bit of embroidery floss to the corners for tassels. I hope that all made sense.

I mentioned it in the MK swap thread, but I forgot to mention it here. The ZooBalloo Abu concept is not my original idea, but one I got from someone on the Cricut boards. I don't know the scrapper who posted her layout there or I would give her a credit. She had him hanging upside down from the letters to spell Aladdin on a MGM parade layout.

Makes good sense from the read thru!
I'm so glad he took it like a trooper when your cut his arms and tail off... Poor little guy!!!!

I'll try it tonight... I actually have to cut slide mounts out w/ tan paper..so I'll have to try him out tonight..

Thanks!!!

They aren't mine. The only things I did in that swap were Nemo the Musical. I wasn't in the group so I am not sure who did that one.

I think some of my little pieces of paper with swappers' names on them got put in the wrong places in my "newly re-organized" swaps binder. I found a list with the swap participants, and I'm now thinking they must have been made by knovak because everything else seems to match up. Sorry for my mistake, and thanks for calling me on that.

Love all the pages, happycampers!

I can tell you that MichellePooh is terrific about using her swap items! I recognized something from almost every page of hers at a crop we attended - something I had at home in a box, rather than on a page! And everything looked terrific!

Last Chance to Post!

After I come back from taking child to camp, I'm drawing a name.

:confused3 Guess what? 95 little 2x3 pieces of paper folded twice overflows a Ball Quart Jar. I couldn't get the little guys to move around once they were in. So I dumped it all into my recycle box and then pulled a slip with the letter R on it.

So I will be sending rlovew the matchbook album in with the Sports Swap items. I'll also PM you so you know it is coming and that you are now responsible for the next round of this challenge. :cutie:

Thanks I look forward to my prize. I started the next round due on a Monday because 5 weeks from today would put it on one of my next trips to Disney so i couldn't pull then. I haven't decided on the prize yet but I am working on it. I probablly won't decide until I get a good night of sleep under my belt and then have a chance to look around.

Rebecca

Congratulations, Rebecca!

I feel like I have a prize, too. More completed scrapbook pages!

Thanks, AWM for hostessing this. It was a real motivator.

Thank you all who participated! It was great to see 95 different layouts.

Can't wait to see what else you all do.

Congrats Rebecca.. now to go find that other thread.. I plan on scrapping some next week as a stress reliever from this week!

Congrats, Rebecca!

This was a good motivator. I wish I wasn't bent on finishing my 2006 album before scrapping my last DL trip. I'm looking at starting my DL trip as my "reward" for finishing my year. I really only have about 4 more events to scrap to be done but I don't have swap items for ANY of them so I might not make it into this month's drawing either.

If I do make it to my DL album, I should be able to rack up some numbers for the month. We'll see!
