My DSIL is a scrapper/stamper, as well as a salesperson for Stampin' Up (which some of y'all may have heard of..they sell rubber stamps, scrapping supplies, etc). We have waited till the VERY LAST MINUTE :faint: to buy her a Christmas gift and it's too late for us to order anything from Stampin Up for her. There is a local place called The Scrapbook Warehouse, but we have NO IDEA what to get her.

I suggested giving her a gift cert to Scrapbook Warehouse, but DH doesn't like giving people gift certs. Don't ask me why, I don't know. I suggested going in there and just buying her some new stamps, but he is concerned that she might get into trouble with her boss at Stampin Up for using non-Stampin Up stamps for classes, etc. :( So now what?

I need suggestions on what to get her, so please..help!

This is a toughie, but I'll give you a perspective from someone who used to be a consultant for a similar company.

DSIL won't get in "trouble" for using another company's stuff. Many times, though, you want to stay with the company line to help your sales. It really depends on the consultant- some are completely dedicated to their product lines, and other like to use it all!

If you can't do the gc, I recommend storage! Storage is a bit more universal, and can ge used at home or taking the show on the road. Depending on your budget, perhaps a shoulder tote, or a paper keeper, or a tool organizer?

Perhaps also- things that can be altered to create new projects. Lunch Boxes, Chipboard letters, Books and Mini Albums...

I send DH to the scrapbook store with a very specific list for my stocking stuffers- company names, colors, paper lines (yup! i'm anal!), and i'm not even a consultant anymore! :) However, I do know what I like and what kind of projects I'm working on, and that way he's got a better shot finding something I love. Plus, it's easier on the sales associate if he hands them a specific list. :)

Hope that helps!!!!

A second vote for storage. Rolling racks, magazine holders, ribbon holders, pretty glass jars to put embellishments in (mason jars, candy jars, etc), bulletin boards, clip boards - any of these I would be more than happy to receive. She may have tons of product but not a lot of storage options.

Another vote for storage. Cute jars filled with ribbon, buttons, Prima flowers. ETC....the totally cool totes are really neat if she doesn't have one of those. The store you were looking at is out of stock but ACMoore usually has them. If you make up a basket you could throw in the latest stamping magazine, along with the jars of goodies. HTH!!

All great ideas! Storage is the best idea of all! You can never have enough storage! Idea books are also great! Sometimes they can be expensive and we don't always buy these things for ourselves! So getting them for a christmas gift is lots of fun!!!

I like the storage idea! As a CMC myself, I do sometimes use other products (e.g. from e-bay) to get the look I want, but I try to keep those out of sight of my customers. Also how about inks for the stamps? She could keep those at home and just use them on things she's keeping for herself or giving to poeple who don't stamp.

Thanks so much guys. DH did eventually end up getting her the Gift Cert because he didn't know what else to get her and MIL (who works for the same company) didn't know what to get her either. :faint:
