My hopes of driving to WDW have been dashed.

The cast is me, the wife, 4 year old, 7 month old, and the in-laws. We don't have a vehicle big enough to accomodate 6, let alone 6 plus luggage for a 10 night stay and there just seemed to be no guarantee that we could get a specific vehicle through a rental agency.

Instead of flying out of Columbus, we're going to drive an hour further to Dayton and fly out of there for $90 less per ticket. The total cost will probably be pretty close to being a wash, but I do enjoy the drive. We should be in our room (if available) within 5 hours of heading to the airport, so that will be nice.

We will also miss having the car down there somewhat, but not too much. I am concerned about transporting strollers and baby on the plane--that will be new for us.

No real point to this post I guess. Just a rambling. There goes my excuse for buying that Toyota Sequoia though.

Don't know if it's any consolation, but I think flying is the smarter option. While you may enjoy the drive, the children don't usually find it nearly as interesting. Nor the other people trying to entertain them. If I'm going to Disney I want to get there yesterday! With 4 adults in the group I don't think handling the baby and the stroller will be a very big problem. One takes the baby, one takes the stroller, one takes the 4 year-old. You're left with a spare adult! ;) Relax and enjoy. Hope you have a great trip!

My DS, 23, is right there with you. We are flying again this year after years of mostly driving from PA to Fla. He loves the drive :drive: and isn't happy about flying. He says the drive is part of the vacation. Too bad he is outvoted by the other 5 of us. Get me there quick, that is my motto! LOL! I did my share of driving, time to relax in my old age.
Smiles,
Diane =0)
