scrapbooking, anyone?

Timon-- you did such a great job! I'm ready to start our book from May 1st. How did you get those great pics of the Hercules show? They are wonderful--we love that show. Since no photos are allowed, are they posted on the web somewhere? Are there ones of other shows? My kids would love to see them. Thanks!!

Timon your scrapbooks are awesome!! I can't wait for our Nov. cruise!!! I just recently started scrapbooking and I am definitely going to buy the DCL scrapbook and scrapbook our cruise.

debm,

When we watched the shows, they announced no flash photography and no videotaping. I took photos without the flash and most of them came out pretty well. I've seen tons of photos of all the DCL shows in trip reports that I have read. I know that Barb's site has pics of the newest show, Golden Mickeys, just go to Fun Stuff and then click on the Shows.

Thanks, Timon. I'll check that out. Your pics did turn out good. I thought they were some kind of professional published ones!! :)

I am not a scapper but 1 thing that I have seen people use that is really cute and free- those paint samples from Home Depot shaped like Mickey's head. They have every color of the rainbow.
I am hoping to put together a memory book so thanks everyone for all these great ideas.

Timon,
Your scrapbooks are awesome. Thanks for sharing. Where did you get the title die cuts, like the Serenity Bay one for example? Do they sell them on the ship, or did you make them?? I've been a scrapbooker for about 7 years and we are taking our first cruise next year. Seeing your stuff really got my wheel turning.....

MickyMommy,,,Do you remember how much the creative Memories Album cost ? I usually buy the DCL one on the ship. Maybe I will buy this instead.I make an album for each of our cruises. :-) thanxs

Timon,You did a great job on your scrapbook! I enjoyed seeing it.:D

::MickeyMo If you have a store near you named Michaels they sell books of disney papers and kits, also punches of mickey, pooh bear, etc.

Inreguards to the creative memories mickey scrapbook, I bought it and was disappointed. The albums from them are the best, but the covering with the mickey was done in a cheap way, like the old type of rubbery-plastic iron ons. Just my view, but didn't want anyone else to be disapointed also.

I just got back from my 4-day Wonder cruise last week. Just a couple ideas for you. The night before you disembark, right by guest services, they have new luggage tags in baskets on the table. You can go and get as many as you like. I picked up four of each character. They are great little tags for your album. I too bought the Cruise Scrap Book it cost $25.00. They had tons of them so don't worry about not getting a book. What they did not have a lot of was the extra packet especially designed for the cruise. I bought mine the minute the store opened. The clerk said that was smart since they always run out mid-way through the trip. I think they only had like 6 packets TOTAL! We also got selected "Family of the Cruise." Has anyone ever heard of this? We were quite shocked. But we got special treatment by way of food waiting for us in our stateroom every day and we also got personal letters from the staff hoping that we had a good day on the islands. Great for scrapbooking!

kellimomo3,

The Serenity Bay title was done by myself in MS Word, as well as most of the other titles. The only thing I bought aboard the ship were the characters in their DCL clothes that are actually postcards. At that time all they were selling was a basic 8x11 scrapbook with almost nothing inside of it, a few papers and that's all. I work in 12 x 12 format so I didn't bother to pick up the album.

Timon,
I didn't know you could do that, very impressive!!! Thansk for the response!

I am planning on picking up the Disney Cruise scrapbook while onboard, but now you have me wondering...is it 12x12 or is it the smaller size??? I also like the 12x12 format much better since there is so much more room. I am also picking some up for someone else, and I need to make sure I am getting the right thing.

Go to page 1 of this thread & scroll down to dotterson's reply about e bay. I went to ebay site & typed in Disney cruise scrapbook, it came up & it is beautiful, classy & 12x12. I'm glad they decided to go back to that size. Our first cruise in 2000 it was 12x12 but every year after they made them small. On our Christmas cruise I plan on getting it!:D

I'm been watching the eBay auction for the 12x12 and it's up to $31. Someone on the Board here says it costs $25 on the ships. I'm gonna wait.

BTW, I've been doing 8x11 lately and find that they're not big enough, so I'm getting 12x12 from now on. I've been stocking up on various stickers and papers I see and will give it to my daughter for the holidays (before we cruise.)

the scrapbook I picked up onboard last week is 12 x 12 and it cost $25.00. Don't bid on ebay for anything over that unless your cruise is already over and you didn't get a book.

I found that 12 X 12 is a lot more convenient for my cruise pages because all the pictures I bought onboard (with characters, etc.) are at least 6 X 8. The pictures take up most of the 8 X 11 pages. :earsboy:

I bought the package of twenty 6 x 8's. I was going to buy a separate photo album just for them. What does everyone do with their 6 x 8 photos in the scrapbook? Any good ideas? Timon, I'm sure you have a few ideas right?

If you have a scanner & a photo printer, you can scan them down & print to a size that you want. I do this all the time!:)
