Scrapbook Trip Report!

Hello Everyone! Here is my Scrapbook Trip Report! I’d like to say it was all my idea, but that would be a lie. 9th grade rolls around one of my best friends has a brilliant idea… “Let’s go to Disneyworld for our graduation present!” We can plan and book the trip (with a little help from the parents) work part time to make the money and treat ourselves to a trip we will never forget. 8 days 7 nights at the Caribbean beach resort. Three best friends in Disneyworld! Great plan right? *Everyone nod at their computer screen.* Well it was sooo fantastic that it proved to be problematic…

Less then a year goes by and we begin to suffer from extreme Disneyworld withdrawal. So after our last fantastic trip we decided to go back… 4 day three nights in the Port Orleans Riverside. A year later it hits us again…. And to Disneyland we go this time…4 days three nights. Two years later we are starting to go into shock the withdrawal so bad this time that we book 2 weeks, once again at the Caribbean beach Resort.

Well that was two years ago some where along the way I discovered the Disboards. My best friends have not followed me onto the boards but are always willing to listen…and then bug hit again…and so we booked….a week in the Caribbean Beach. As soon as the trip was booked we began to dream, eat, sleep Disney. Well actually I think I’m the only one of the three of us this obsessed…. But my friends are starting to get close!

So what to do with the wait… I talk and talk about starting a trip report…but alas…still haven’t… (watch for that soon!) So one of my friend’s pulls out box of previous pictures…then the scrap booking begins! So this is my scrapbook trip report…

The Cast:
Alyss- That’s me! I’m 24 and in love with Disney. I love to pin trade and my collection is one of my prides and joy! I’ve been a bit of a lurker on the boards here but I’m slowing getting my post counts up! Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorites hence the name… and I’m also a fan of Beauty and the Beast but I’m completely head over heels over Jack Sparrow. Excuse me…CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow. He’s even coming with me to Disneyworld this year… (don’t cha all wish I’d start my pre-trip report now….either that or you think I’m crazy…here’s a lil’ picture to tide you over…..

AnythingBloom- also 24 and a fantastic artist! Really she can make/do anything she puts her mind too! She’s an Art major at our state college here in Alaska. AnythingBloom is the creator of the scrapbook I’m posting as well as the photographer who shot the pictures of the book! She is going to take thousands of pictures for me on our upcoming trip to DW! She’s currently studying photography so I’m excited. (She’s gonna read this and make me mention that she didn’t take all the scrapbook photos and that our camera at the time was really really bad.) I should also mention that she is a Will Turner fanatic! Well actually she is an Orlando Bloom fanatic…. Anything Bloom at anytime is a great gift!

Buzzadit- 25 and in love with Nintendo. She is also the one who feeds me and I feel that for that alone she should get a medal. She is an amazing cook and very good at anything that involves a field guide, and a map! She really likes Tinkerbell and Peter Pan and probably owns more Disney merchandise than I do (If we don’t count the pins. ) Buzzadit’s true love however is Harry Potter. Yep, in love with Harry Potter… (well all us girls are…but her especially..)

Let me recap before we get to the pictures... this trip-report/scrapbook (more scrapbook then trip report to be honest) is from….

2001- Caribbean Beach Resort
2002- Port Orleans French Quarter
2003-Disneyland
2005-Caribbean Beach Resort

Oh I should also mention…we do not take “traditional photos,” we enjoy our pictures serious and very dignified…there I go lying again….I look mostly deformed in these pictures and that’s how I like em’! So enjoy!!! And do not worry…I usually do not really look like a troll….just in my pictures! So on to the pictures!!!

AnythingBloom is the one in red! These pictures were taken on our 1st trip in 2001. Everyone's hair is sooo short!!!

Ok so I have to ask, Alaska to Florida in August? How on earth do you deal with the climate changes? I have hard enough time adjusting from CT.
How long does it take you guys to get there?

Thank you! The butterly paper came from a Tinkerbelle Scrapbook Page Kit. I believe it had 6 sheets in it plus some cutouts. Really cute little kit. I think we found it at Joann Fabrics and Crafts.
We always fly instead of drive. I'm uncertain how long it would take us to get to Disneyworld if we drove, but it would be ugly and we would have to drive through Canada. Nothing against Canada but I'd rather avoid international border crossing if at all possible! Our flights for our upcomming trip are not too bad. 2 or 3 hours in the air for Anchorage to Seattle, then 6 or 7 hours Seattle to Orlando! Once we had awful flight connections (1st trip) and spent 13 hours in the air. HORRIBLE... sadly enough it was the only trip we ever booked through a travel agent. Never again! Besides I found I love researching ever nook and cranny Disney has to offer me!

Hello again! *Waves* Sure thing... cooler weather comming right up.
Climate changes are killer! We always get stuffed up or sinus infections on our trips but it's completely worth it! Most the time I think this is because we put the air conditioning on at the highest it can go and leave it that way all night. My friends love the air conditioning...but I'm always cold! This is the 1st time we are going in August. Next years trip will be timed differently I hope..( heh Heh yep I'm in planning for next years trip already and we haven't left yet! Heh Heh) I burn like you wouldn't believe. It's almost entertaining how different my skin will look in Florida. I'm very very pale. I almost glow in the dark. 15 minutes in the sun on a lunch break can cause me to get very red blisterish skin for days! So while in Orlando I carry with me at all times... a scarf for my head (ever had sunburn on the top of your head...much worse than the rest of your body! ), SPF 60, and usually a long sleved shirt of some sort just in case... so far I've been very very lucky or maybe well prepared on our trips and have rarely gotten much of a burn!

Even though I live in Alaska, I dream all winter of warmer weather. I get awful cabin fever. My dream is to move to Orlando in the next 10 years. I really do love the weather down there!

We do! I love my friends we always have a blast together. I don't know if I mentioned it above anywhere the but the girls I go on vaction with are also my roommates. Have been since 2001. People are always so surpised we are still friends after all this time, I try to explain that we are more like a family then just friends but they don't really understand.

I burn on the top of my head too, it's the dark hair. I swear it's like a neon sign to the sun, stop here!!! Coppertone makes a continuous spray sunscreen that would probably work well. Me, I wear a hat. I look beyond stupid in it but I wear one.

And I hear you on planning the next trip before the current one is finished, how do you think we ended up going 4 times in 2005. How can I tell the boys no, right?!? It's Disney, no one says no to Disney! LOL

I so agree! No one says No to Disney! We are wanting to go back next year for a bit longer I believe! Yay!!! It's really exciting that we can plan a trip as soon as we get back! Maybe the Disneywithdrawl will not be so depressing this year!!!

I try to wear hats...most the time they are too big for me though...the headscarf is safest...I don't have to worry about it flying off on a ride because I pin them to my hair!

Here's another addition of our Scrapbook Trip Reports...now reporting from Epcot!!! My Favorite!!!

This is the traditional Epcot photo... right in front of SpaceShip Earth. It's kinda strange to think that when we go back this year the Hand and Wand will be gone! But do not fear...we will still take the picture...it's tradition!
I'm on the left, Buzzadit in the middle, and AnythingBloom on the right!

Here is AnythingBloom enjoying the toyshop in Epcot. We couldn't remember the name of this place..if it has one.

This is from our first trip to the Seas! I just love looking at all the little...and not so little fishies!

I LOVE all the flowers around Epcot! One day I hope we will be able to go to Epcot during the Garden Festival (Not sure if that's what it's called! )

Umm...at a loss as to what to say here! We are a little bit silly!

Heh...that last thing I said about being silly I really should have put here! I just love to take interesting photo's and I'm so happy when I can get the roomies to play along. ThinkPlace in Epcot is fantastic! I love that you can email people your photo's while you are actually on your vacation! We had way too much fun taking these!!! Bwhahahahahaha!
