I've lurked on this board for some time and have used many of the wonderful recipies so I know just how helpful all those who post here can be.

As you might have guessed from the subject, I am looking for a product that will help us (my best friend and I) organize our notes from daily trip activities and the menus or other special items we collect to add to our scrapbooks. We are both just beyond beginners but certainly a long way from pros and since we have DVC we know that we will have loads of pics of our families to scrapbook with. I had thought that perhaps someone here would know of a product like Passporter (which may be a great way to organize) or there may be something else that would organize as we travel so the work is started once we get home.......

Hope this doesn't seem strange, I just thought that you all might have some suggestions.

Thanks to all who might share ideas!

Check out expandable folders in the office supply section of Target or other stores. My son uses those for school and they look like they might work.

How about large manila envelopes. You could write the date, notes, ... on the outside of each envelope and stuff all the pictures, menus...inside.

I was just at a charct. wareshouse yesterday and saw they have a WDW journel book (it was $5.99 on clearance) that sounds like just what you would need. I'm sure they might still sell it at the parks.

Really low tech, but this is what I do.

First of all, for journal keeping, I carry a small steno pad and pen in my fannypack every day. Whenever I am waiting in a line or sitting on the monorail or whatever, I take a few minutes to jot down what we have been doing since I last wrote... what time we arrive in the parking lot (and where we parked),what time we are through the gates, any significant facts (like the day we were car #5 in the TTC parking lot), weather, what rides we went on, what we ate and where. At the end of the day I recheck my journaling for the day and jot down whatever I may have missed.

I also keep a plastic recloseable file folder type thing for each child (and one for each day if necessary). At the end of the day I empty our fanny packs, back pack of everything we collected during the day (stickers, napkins, photo claim tickets, confetti, menus, etc) into this folder (which I usually leave at the hotel). Then when I get home I type our journal/diary, adding any details.

When I FINALLY get around to scrapping (I scrap chronologically) I read through the diary and do a two-page LO at a time, adding the journaling and photos for one event or section of the day at a time (some events take 2 two-page LOs, like parades). I look through my plastic folder and add any "bits and pieces" to the pages as I do them. For my son's b.day cupcake at CRT I saved the candle and the mickey confetti that was on the table. I put it in a keepsake pocket and added it to the page that has a picture of him blowing out the candle. He LOVES to look and see the "actual candle" from that birthday!

Anyhow....HTH.......................P

I started out looking for a special gift (passporter) but decided that it was just to bulky for our laid back travel style so I think the ideas shared will be good for both my best friend and I....now maybe I'll just get her a gift basket of Disney Scrapbook "stuff" and put in some of the items you all mentioned. We will be giving our gifts Thanksgiving before we leave for WDW and VB for our annual trip.

Thanks again to all who posted.

I used my CM dectofile on my last trip. It was nice and easy to carry.

I was shopping for some Christmas bags at Dollar Tree today and found some really cool Christmas folder style containers in the section with the bags. This folder is large enough to hold the envelopes and folders and has expansion room with a flat bottom and the top is an envelope style with a velcro closing. It will be perfect for gathering and "wrapping" all the items I will be including. We will be so organized and there will be no mistaking that this is the Holiday collection when we begin our new book.

Now I'm really excited!

Thanks again!

I like to buy postcards at the park for my journalling. I get pictures that I think I might like to have in my scrapbook, then at night I write down what we did and any extra little facts - very brief, just one or two words at that time. Then, I get back and first thing use those to write up my trip report - expanding significantly on my notes.

For things I collect along the way, I usually ask for an extra shopping bag at one of my first stops, then pile everything on a corner of the table or the air conditioner in my hotel room.

Good luck!
