Scout leaders - NYC patch programs?

I'm planning a trip for our area Girl Scouts (Cadettes and Seniors) to go to NYC next June. I'm trying to find out if there are any special NYC patch programs that we could do while we are there.

I already know about the workshops with the Broadway shows, but I'm hoping there are also programs for the National Headquarters, Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, Empire State Building, NBC Studios, etc.

I've been trying to search online but haven't been coming up with much of anything so far.

I know the Suffolk county council has council own patchers for brownies and juniors for the Statue of Liberty. I am not sure about the older girls. Only problem is good luck getting them. I took my troop to the statue of liberty in May and placed order online and than though email..nothing.. Every time I called I had to leave voice mails and never got a callback.

Are the Councils Own patches strictly for the girls in that council, or are they created for anyone to earn?

I hope they send you your patches soon!

nope..usually anyone can do them. Once and while you we see they are only for that council. My girls have done them from all lover the country.I like doing the councils own since they are different.

I've been looking for a place to take my Juniors next Spring and they mentioned NYC. Does anyone have a list of places that give GS discounts like hotels, transportation, restaurants, attractions? Thanks. Brenda
