Scott & Vicki's Art Deco Wedding and Disneymoon May 29, 2011 *Wedding Day Report!

So lucky you get it for free!!!
If I were doing something like this, I'd definately have a car JUST LIKE THAT ONE! I've always said that!! :):lovestruc

We should all start our own wedding business!! :goodvibes We can call it "FAB"ulous Weddings!! :lmao:

Best idea ever!! I'm in! :dancer:

I know I almost fainted, but at least it's done and now I know the "damage" :rotfl:

:)

So Scott and I went to our hometown (where the wedding will be) to do a food tasting with our caterer and it went well. We got to taste a bunch of really expensive way out of our budget food, but it was there so why not try it:lmao: We ended up deciding on a basic chicken dish so now I just have to fill out the forms and submit our final decisions to the caterer over the weekend via email :thumbsup2 One more thing we got done today, we went to the car shop Scott used to work at to pick out a car to take us from the reception to our hotel at the end of the night and everywhere in between. We ended up going with this one, I am super excited and the owner is loaning it to us for free! :woohoo:

Scott's dad is going to shine it up really good for the big day :thumbsup2

Amazing car!! That is so awesome you get it for free, too. Transportation isn't really in our budget, so I'm not 100% sure what we're doing yet... but you lucked out!

So I finally finished up my videos that we are showing at the wedding. Scott, myself, and my brother created a wedding "trailer" to air right before we come into the reception hall. I think the guests are going to love it :thumbsup2 Our second video that I made is set to our first dance song that will be played during our first dance. I comprised a bunch of love moments from our favorite movies. I can't wait to show it to everyone. On the RSVP front we are about half way there with our responses and there is still a month left for everyone to respond so that's pretty good. Some more good news I spoke with our officiant today and he said our ceremony will be finished this week:thumbsup2 I am super excited everything is just really coming together now :) Oh and I have an update on my flight change that I mentioned a while back. I called Disney and I got my flights changed so now we are arriving in Disney at noon and leaving Disney on the last day in the late evening which means that we basically got 2 extra days added to our trip:woohoo: With all this extra time, I reconfigured our ADR's so that we could go to Narcoossee's our first night for dinner like I originally planned, but funny story, DF was looking over my shoulder while I was stalking the restaurant food picture thread and he saw a picture of O'hana at dinner and he said, "We are going there right????" :rotfl: and I told him that I hadn't planned on that one and he said well what can we sub out so we can go there, lol! DF never has an opinion on anything so I said I can make that happen so we ended up switching out Narcoossee's :lmao: I don't mind though we will just have to go on our next trip:thumbsup2 Here's the updated list, it shouldn't change again hopefully :)

Your guests will love those videos!!! One of my friends did that and it was too cute!
Great ADR's :thumbsup2 Brian likes O'hana too. I have to make our ressies in a few days and I thought it would be so easy, but now I'm just all confused...haha!

I know right? I changed my ADR's so many times my head was in a whirl. I think what the problem was for me is that I know that I won't be back to the "world" for a while so I want to eat at as many places as possible that have the best reviews. I also wanted to try getting in seeing as many resorts as possible which is hard when you are trying to fit in the parks as well :/ I have to literally make myself stop switching them :rotfl:

Hey Girl! Wow, you are so organized and on the ball! Your tower of boxes cracks me up, I know Im gonna have one veeerrry similar! LOL :rotfl: You are so lucky to get that car for free, how exciting! Also, your video sounds great. How did you do it? Would you mind sending it to me? I'd love to do something similar for our wedding,it really sounds amazing!

I have a few problems with mine. MNSSHP and F&W Fest is going on during our trip. I'm thinking of not even making reservations a couple days for lunch of the f&w fest and just eat all around. And most of the places I want to eat at are at the resorts. What if I don't want to leave the parks??? I'm so confused. And I need to be less confused in 6 days...haha!

I also had a reallllly hard time deciding where to make my ADRs! I want to eat EVERYWHERE!! So many of the resort restaurants sound good, but I don't want things to get too crazy with transportation and going all over the place, so I only did one at Narcoossee's. I try to tell myself that I'll just eat at those other places when I come back and stay at each resort... you know, because I want to visit Disney and try to stay at every single one :thumbsup2

And the food and wine festival... that's going to be so cool, I haven't been during it when I was at a legal drinking age so it really wasn't that appealing at the time, but I would love to go back during that time. I've heard so many good things. I think you could definitely forgo making ressies and just eat throughout the day!

How cool is that car Vicki!!? AND FREE?! :yay:

I will be stalking your honeymoon TR.... just so you know ;)

We are also going to be eating at Ohana's our first night!!!! :woohoo:

Your wedding is coming up sooo close!!! I am soo excited for you!!

You definitely got me on a good day, the rest of the house is in shambles :rotfl: I was super excited about the car I can't believe the owner is so nice since he doesn't know us very well, I am so greatful though:thumbsup2 I made our wedding trailer through the software Sony Vegas. I watched some youtube videos online for inspiration and then I wrote a script. My brother and myself shot it and DF, my brother, and myself acted in it. We also got some footage of our parents and some of the bridesmaids and groomsmen in it too, it was super fun :cutie: All you need is an idea and a camera and your good too go! If I can figure out how to upload it online I can send it too you, I just have to figure it out, I will let you know :goodvibes For ideas definitely hit up youtube they have some great stuff!

Yeah that was my problem too trying to balance time in the parks with exploring the resorts so I only did ressies at Poly 2 days, once for Breakfast and once for dinner, other than that I don't plan on leaving the parks. It was so much easier before I knew about all the amazing places to eat in the "world" thanks disboards  I would definitely leave some days open for the festival otherwise you will be doing nothing but eating your whole trip :lmao:

I am already making a list of ADR's for our next trip during our anniversary  It will definitely get easier for me to sacrifice time in the parks once I have officially ridden everything. I have been to Disney only twice so far so after this trip I think I have hit up everything I wanted so I don't mind taking a break to explore the resorts:thumbsup2

Stalk away I can't wait to read all yours as well :grouphug: I know I am freaking out it is getting so close :)

So a little update today. I wanted to have a nice hanger to hang my dress from, but I didn't want to pay a whole lot to have one made on etsy so I made one myself:cutie: It's nothing fancy but it will do the trick here's what I got

photo-158.jpg

photo-159.jpg

I got the hanger from TJMaxx a pack for 3 for $5 and the brooch from Michael's and ribbon from Walmart.

One other update. My nail polish came in the mail today that I am wearing on the big day, this nail polish has seriously become the other love of my life

Your hanger that you made is so cute! And the nail polish is gorgeous! Do you have any tips or advice on what products to use when I'm doing my own nails so that it doesn't chip? I'm pretty active, and I find that when I put on nail polish it's already chipped later that day or the next day.

I agree with you about the ADRs, this will be my fourth time in WDW and I haven't been for four or five years, and neither has Jason. And we've never been together. Hopefully someday we'll be going so often that we'll be used to it and we can explore everything else that WDW has to offer!

The hanger looks great :thumbsup2

And I LOVE the nail polish! It looks great!! It's a very pretty purple!

Thanks! What I do to keep my nails from being chipped is I use Sally Hansen's Insta Grip Fast Dry Base coat. I put a layer of that down and then two layers of whatever polish I want that day. After that you wait 2 minutes and put on one coat of Sally Hansen's Insta Dri Anti Chip Top coat. The trick to this is to make sure you put the top coat on the entire nail and overlap it so is goes underneath the top of your nail a little bit without touching your skin of course, this creates a better seal for the polish if you are active or swim a lot. I buy it at Walmart, but you can get it at stores like Walgreens too. What's nice about it, is that it dries in 30 secs with any nail polish for impatient people like myself :rotfl: For the day of I plan on taking my purple polish to the salon and having them put it on though, because they do a way better job than I do :rotfl: I can't wait until the next Disney trip after that because we want to dabble our hands at some of the tours and definitely hit up any restaurant we haven't been too!

Thank you!

Not many wedding updates this week I'm afraid. I am still in the process of making the photobooth Dolly suggested a few threads back so we will be driving to our home town Friday to try and make it there, we bought a bunch of the stuff and I have been documenting all the way so I will get my pictures up when it's finished. One issue I did have though was figuring out who would take the pictures of our guests because we don't have money in the budget to hire someone so the only option we really have is "self serve" so I bought a bunch of polaroid cameras from Goodwill for $6, but the issue is getting the film because it is discontinued :( I was watching a bid on ebay today for it for 4 packs of 10 image film and it was going for $11.50. I went to bid on it and all the sudden it jumped to like $37 in a sec and a half:scared1: So now I am thinking guests who brought cameras can just give it a go and document it that way. I don't think people will mind too much that way they can take as many pictures as they like and there are no restrictions. :thumbsup2 Another update the officiant has basically finished our ceremony and scheduling for the day. I think we are one draft away from being complete on that:woohoo: and we are meeting with our DJ this weekend to finalize the details. I am going to try and take it easy on most of the wedding stuff this week because my birthday is Thursday and Scott told me I need to take a day off from the planning, so I might be MIA until the weekend or next Monday, but I don't know if I can stay away, lol!

I love the nail polish! My nails are basically always purple and I'm definitely going to look up that color! And your hanger looks great, I love the cameo brooch you used.

Thanks for the nail advice! I'm definitely going to get mine done at a salon on the wedding too, but I was curious what you do for every day. There are so many different products out there that I was hoping for advice from someone who has used one and can actually tell me that it works! So I'm definitely going to look for the ones that you mentioned on my next trip to Target!

And Happy Birthday!! :goodvibes

Nail polish is fab! I am a huge fan of color! Unfortunately, DF is in LOVE with french manicures.. so I have to keep them kinda plain on the big day. =[ Wah! I'm always wearing the brightest color I can find! ha. But rest assure, I'll have some sick nail art on them babies!

Your hanger looks great! I wanna make some pretty ones too!!

I just caught up on your plans and I love everything.

That car is sooooo amazing, and for it to be free!!! Awesome!

That pile of boxes made me :rotfl: because I had so much stuff packed for our wedding and it brought back memories, lol.

I love that nail polish so much! The color is gorgeous!

Your ADR's made me drool. I love trying new disney restuarants. I have eaten at almost all of them but you had one or two on your list that I have never tried. You are going to love Flying Fish. They were so good to us on the night before our wedding! Make sure you wear your just married buttons. :goodvibes

Maybe you can save Narcoosee for your 1 year anniversary :cloud9:. It is one of the most romantic restaurants on property, maybe even the most romantic.

Oh, I almost forgot that your hanger is very pretty, that is one thing I forgot to plan and I wished I had after seeing my pictures with a sad hanger holding up my dress, lolol.

Vicki!!! You can now say NEXT MONTH!!! Ahhhh! :faint:

I love the nail polish! My nails are basically always purple and I'm definitely going to look up that color! And your hanger looks great, I love the cameo brooch you used.

Thanks!!! Purple is my favorite so I knew I had to incorporate it in the wedding just a little more with my nails! I actually first saw this polish on the movie "He's Just Not that in to You" on one of the characters and I liked it so much that google it and then bought it online :rotfl:

Thanks! We are definitely wearing the buttons:) I have already started on the ressie list for next year  and Narcoosee's is definitely among them :cutie: I can't wait to clear all the wedding stuff out it's taking up so much room in the house :rotfl:

Vicki!!! You can now say NEXT MONTH!!! Ahhhh! :faint:

I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just thinking about that today it's so weird. We are looking into getting our license in a few weeks and I was like wow we are really doing this now  All of you girls will be up before you know it, when I started my original PJ last year I was like it's going to take forever to get married and now here I am it's so insane!

So small update. We met with the DJ yesterday and showed him our video for the ceremony and he loved it. I can't wait to see how everyone likes it at the wedding. I still have to figure out how to upload it so you all can see it. Also, the first of the bridesmaid dresses came in yesterday for one of the girls. Scott's sister tried on her dress and it looks great here are the pics

The shoes look really great with it I am so happy with how it turned out. :cutie: In other news Scott and his family were working on the photobooth wall yesterday and it is really coming along so I definitely think it will turn out well. I will definitely post completed pictures once it's done :goodvibes OH and one more thing...THE WEDDING IS NEXT MONTH! I can't believe how time flies :)

Wahoo!! :yay: Next month!!! CRAZY!!!
