Scotchguard for the rain?

What do y'all think about scotchguarding clothes to protect against the rain? I hate wearing rain pants...I'm not a size 0 so they're hard to find too.

I can't believe we leave in a few days!!!!

I'm interested in this too, but more for my shoes. Looks like we will be there in the rain as well.

Not sure how I feel about that just yet.

I prefer a poncho to spraying chemicals on my clothes.

As for shoes, we always bring at least two kinds of shoes anyway, so one can dry for a day while the other is worn.

I've never scotchguarded clothes but I have done umbrellas and hats for WDW. It works great. Some umbrellas actually let the rain drop on your head (the cheaper ones) but if you scotchguard them, the rain won't come through. Same thing with hats. I only really wear hats (baseball style) while at WDW during rainy weather. If you don't waterproof them, your head (hair) ends up getting wet.

If I wore sneakers I would waterproof them as well, however, since I usually wear crocs water isn't a problem.

Places like Bass Pro Shop have rainsuits in a few sizes...with elastic waists. That's what we use.

They are just thin, waterproof pants. Basically the same exact material as a raincoat. I've seen them in the parks before.

I do this to all shoes and gloves. Now that I think about it, though, my old jacket could use some new waterproofed life in it.

ponchos are pretty much worthless in anything but a light drizzle.
