ScoJo's Running Down a Dream Journal (comments welcome)

You GO Scott!! Awesome run! I didn't make it out there this morning, but DH and I got into some heavy duty re-organizing around the house which is SO needed!!

I'm hoping to get out there tomorrow morning, or maybe even later tonight.

Have a great weekend!!

Good job on the awesome 6 miler, especially after a less than stellar pre-run evening. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I enjoyed reading day 3 of your trip report. Sounds like you two had a truly magical week. :wizard: Have a great rest of the weekend. :sunny:

 Hi Scott!!!

What's that....who is that WAY up ahead? *squinting* Darn....I'm running but I can't catch up? *puts on glasses* Oh my goodness...it's Scott :rotfl: . SLOW DOWN!!! Geesh!!! Can't catch up to you! INCREDIBLE RUN...YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!! Anyway....once again I'm jealous of your splits lol. Incredible time posted there and after an evening of staying up all night drinking. That is what you said right??? ALL night...drinking...not sleeping??? :confused3 . I really am beginning to believe that you aren't human LOL. I can't over-indulge in a few and still perform. You knock back...how many? OK...say you knock back A LOT OF DRINKS and sleep what...maybe a few hours....and KILL that run. Ugh. *smack*

So needless to say, it was a very successful morning! Now we'll see how the next two weeks shape up....the next two long runs are a 10 miler and a 12 miler. It represents a pretty demanding part of the marathon training and I hope that I can manage my way through it without too much difficulty. Once that 12 miler is in the books, the training will be half way done!! My how time flies....

And hmmmm...what is the best way to be successful over the two grueling, torturous weeks ahead....hmmmmm....let me think . GOT IT! No more hangin' from the chandelier, bustin up the joint, getting all jacked up ALL NIGHT DRINKING FESTS!!!! :lmao: But who knows...maybe I don't know what I'm talking about after looking at your splits again. ;)

All kidding aside. I know you were feeling down and I sure hope that you're doing ok this weekend. The run was simply amazing and I know that a good run can sure help to clear the head and put things in perspective. I really do hope that everything is ok! And I really want you to stay healthy and in once piece! So please take good care of yourself Scott!!!! :goodvibes

Good morning!!

As always thanks to everyone for posting here... :grouphug:

Yesterday was a grueling rest day, and I completed it in fine fashion! I did manage to get out there and cut the grass, and I did take a nice bike ride with my DD...but other than that it was a lazy bum kind of Sunday :)

So yeah, before I forget here is a link to my Disney Photopass pictures for those interested in viewing....Warning: There are 132 of them!! Let's just say that I know a couple of people who are not camera shy ;)

My Disney Photopass Pictures! Enjoy!

So today begins another week of marathon training, to which I've now added the arm/ab routine and some weightlifting to try and get some kind of definition. Here is how this week will shape up:

Monday - 50 minute run followed by arms/abs
Tuesday - 40 minute XT followed by weights
Wednesday - 40 minute run followed by arms/abs
Thursday - weights
Friday - 30 minute XT followed by arms/abs
Saturday - 10 mile long run in AM, weights in PM
Sunday - rest :)

Add all of that to the fact that I survived the dentist this morning, and I've still got two doctors appointments this week...so it should be a pretty intense stretch! Wish me luck!

So I guess that's it for today...maybe soon the right side of my face will regain feeling and I won't have to slobber my water all over the place when I attempt to drink it :rotfl:

Off to go work on more trip report...and hit some journals...and maybe even get some work done ;)

Have a great day everyone!

Glad you are treating your rest day with the proper respect :rotfl2: . Sorry about the dentist. Isn't fun when you drool all over everything?

Your training schedule looks good. Have a great week. :sunny:

Hey Scott,

Kudos to you for surviving the dentist! :thumbsup2 Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite ways to spend a day out. ;)

Hey, how about them Buckeyes?!?!?! :cheer2: With the Browns and the Packers having less than stellar seasons, they are the only football team I can root for at this point. Go Bucks! :cheer2:

Your training schedule for the week looks good. I need to try your ab and arms routine one day this week. It looks to be very effective!

Have a great Tuesday! :sunny:

Good morning peoples!!

So I don't have much to say today. I did complete my training yesterday by doing the 50 minute run thru my subdivision (Subdivisions - great song! Just popped into my head....nothing like some Rush when you're in the mood to hear them...anyway...sorry...). I did 5.38 miles again (just like last Monday) and it took just over the 50 minutes, something like 50:14 (I don't have my Polar with me...sorry...sooo unprepared today) (I'm on a roll with the parenthesis, maybe I should just type the whole journal in parenthesis..but then what would you do if you needed them then? Double parenthsis? ((kind of like this? LOL))...anyway...sorry :rotfl: :confused3 )

Now I'm confused, but what did you expect from me? Always have to keep things fresh and exciting ;)

I also did the ab/arm workout after the run and boy that thing is tough!! Someday I'll be able to complete the whole 10 minutes without stopping....right now I'm able to get thru the first rotation but the 2nd rotation is killing me!! I end up doing each exercise for about 15 seconds and then resting for 15 the second time around...but hey, not a good workout unless it's challenging...all I can say is I'd better see some results!!!

So tonight I'll do the elliptical for 40 and then follow it up with some weight training at the house. It's about time I put that bench to use ;)

So that's it...just a quick update today. I need to go back and watch Amazing Race from Sunday but I am caught up with everything else.

I hope everyone has a great day!!

Hey, Scott! Congrats on a great workout. Bet it feels wonderful to do something that doesn't come easily -- somehow more satisfying, right? ;) I am loving your trip report and try to make time whenever I can to read your thread. Sorry I haven't visited your journal much, but wanted to thank you so much for your support.

Have a great day! Don't let those sub-10:00 miles wipe you out.

Good morning.

Yesterday I completed my cross training by mixing it up a little (thanks Amy for the suggestion!!). I started off with 20 minutes on the elliptical and then moved over to the LifeCycle for 20 minutes to complete the 40 minute requirement. I liked the variety, it seemed to make the time go by quicker...and even though I didn't feel tired or like it was tough, I was sweating up a storm! My weight held steady at 193.2 so I was happy with that.

Today is a 4 mile quick run that I think I'll be able to do on a flat surface. It will be interesting to see how well I can perform without the big hills in my subdivision :) Don't worry...I won't push myself too much ;)

Anyway...that's it for today. I'm just kind of out of it for some reason...hopefully I'll get a grip soon and bust out the day.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

WHEW, Scott. I'm tired just reading your last couple of posts! You are a freakin machine! Please make sure to take advantage of your rest days, since you only have one per week. Your body is sure to need the break. :thumbsup2

I'll head back in & check out the photopass pics a little later (just got into work, better get some stuff done first :rotfl: ). But over 100 pics!! That's insane! I didn't even think there were that many opportunities!!! :confused3

Congrats on surviving the dentist. I need to make an appointment, but I'm dragging my feet.

Catch up on TAR, will ya? There's so much more out there to watch....say like tonight at 9pm?? :rolleyes1

I looked at the pics.....they are GREAT! Every one of them! Were you filming on Test Track? How'd that come out?

Your daughter is just beautiful. And she's a ham for the camera like my DD! Especially when in costume! :rotfl: The MNSSHP pics are awesome.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Have fun with your 4 miler today. I'll bet you are going to post some awesome times with the flat surface!

Hi Scott,

You are doing a great job! You're gonna be ready for the marathon in no time!! You are doing a great job! Keep it up

Thanks for sharing your pictures. They are great.

Happy Thursday :)

Hey Scott,

You are Mr. Incredible! :smooth: You have made so much progress in the past few months and your workouts just amaze me. :goodvibes The marathon is YOURS! :cheer2:

Hope you have a good weekend.... Will you be watching Buckeye football? I definitely won't be watching the Browns this weekend... I'm not mad that they lost last weekend...... They just have a bye this week. :rotfl: Hee hee!

Take care! :grouphug:

Hello...

Will return later for an update. Tonight is the Cheetah Girls show and tomorrow is the 10 miler.

Have a good day

Hey Scott!! Have a GREAT time at the Cheetah Girls concert! My DD would be SO jealous! You don't spoil that daughter of yours too much, do ya? :rolleyes1 (it's so easy to do)

Good luck on your 10 miler...can't wait to hear about it!

Greetings!

Just a quick post this morning...

First of all...Cheetah Girls were good! Hannah Montana stole the show though. Was a pretty fun night and a really neat experience...

Today's run.....DID IT! First official 10 miler in the books! Here are the splits:

1 - 8:20
2 - 8:48
3 - 8:44
4 - 8:33
5 - 8:37
6 - 8:58 (extra walk due to gel and water break)
7 - 9:04 (not sure what happened here LOL)
8 - 8:38
9 - 8:25
10 - 8:37

10 miles in 86:44...which calculates out to an 8:40 pace! I feel pretty good, but definitely need some food after that one!

Have a great day...off to a school fall festival....will post more later!

:woohoo:  :cool1: :yay:

Un-freakin-believable!! I knew you could do it...I just didn't expect your last few miles to be SO FAST!!! :moped:

Congrats on your first 10 miler!! Before you know it you'll be telling us about your first 20 miler!!! :thumbsup2
