My boys are 5 & 9 and they love Sci-Fi Dine IN. They asked to go there again on our next trip. The burgers are v. good. It's a nice place to take a break when you are in the park.
I haven't been to WC, but if you aren't staying at WL it might be a pain to get there for dinner.
Sci-Fi in a heartbeat. We were very disappointed in WCC when we were there in September. I think your kids would enjoy sitting in the cars like a drive-in movie...our boys used to love doing this!
I would tend to go the other way and pick Whispering Canyon Cafe without a doubt! We thought that the theme was great at Sci-Fi but the food wasn't good at all. On the other hand, we loved Whispering Canyon Cafe and will return there for many future trips! There are a lot more antics going on there. Plus, you get to see the Wilderness Lodge, which is absolutely beautiful.
Another vote for Sci-Fi. This is the place my 10 year old loves to go back to. The food is decent at both places but the atmosphere is better at Sci-Fi. Whipering Cannon has one of my favorite desserts....I don't know what it is called but it is the vanilla icecream,cinnamon?dessert.Yummm.
Sci-Fi! My parents took me when I was a kid, and now it is one of the only restaurants I HAVE to go to every trip because it was such a great memory for me!
Second this...We love them both...They are very different...We are simple eaters and love American-style food selections...We love WCC for the charm of the lodge...We especially love going for breakfast...But for your needs I think the Sci Fi is the best option...We brought my 9 year old nephew last year and he really loved it....My boys really love it...They always sit so quietly and watch the movies as they eat...Now the food is not the greatest we have ever had but good and the place is worth the trip...
Another Sci Fi vote...better atmosphere, kid friendly "movie-clip" atmosphere with good shakes. We found the food to be more consistent and better at Sci-Fi along with the service and their ability to meet ADR times. Plus, it is in a park too...
I think they'd enjoy sci fi better, but I think the food there is average at best. I'd go lunch. I haven't been to WCC, but wouldn't be quick to return to sci fi, but the kids will enjoy the atmosphere.
We took our four kids to Sci Fi last year. It was cool, quiet, and peaceful after a crazy day but the food was so-so for the price. We did have a great cheesecake dessert (I even took a picture of it). This year, we are booked into the Whispering Canyon for dinner on the night of our arrival. The menu looks great and we are anxious to see the WL. We did not book the Sci Fi again as there are so many places and so little stomach room!
We've been to both and prefer Sci-Fi hands down! Stick with the basics....their burgers and onion rings are great. I also love the cookies-n-cream milkshake.
