Looking for opinions, votes and feedback whether to try 50's Prime Time or Sci-Fi for myself and 3 1/2 year old DS

Thanks
Jason

I thought everyone agreed with me....till I saw I was the first vote.

I don't think little kids will appreciate the history of the shows at the sci fi, 50's is more fun and I believe it has better food also.

Thanks richyams - see you on the DVC boards...

Bumping for anyone else vote/opine?

Thanks

While the food certainly gets better reviews at the Primetime, I can't imagine that 50's kitch would be interesting to a 3 1/2 year old. Getting to eat in the front seat of a car, however- pretty cool! But, it depends on the kid, I guess.

I think that a 3 1/2 year old would appreciate seeing you being fed your greenbeans.

I didn't vote - because there are two ways of looking at it.

The 3 1/2 year old won't "get" either place. But Sci-Fi has the cars and the movies - they don't care about the history - it's a drive in and that's interesting to them. However I hate the service and the food selections there so we only go for shakes because my teen DD loves it.

Prime Time has better food (IMO) and they get to color and have their picture put on the refrigerator and see their parents treated like they usually are. It's a much more fun place (if you play along) to me.

So I'd pick based on what YOU want - I think the 3 1/2 year old will be just as happy at either place.

Hi, taking 2 year old to 50's for lunch June 11. I haven't heard very good things about the food at Sci Fi but I know you can get a good sandwich and to die for shake at 50's. Sci Fi always seemed kind of dark and there was just something so cool being at 50's. Can you tell I'm just dying for my chocolate shake?

Kids do have fun at Sci-Fi just because they get to eat in a car. They don't have to understand the phenomenon of shlock grade-Z sci fi movies to have fun there. Kids do OK at Prime-Time too because it's informal and has good comfort food (though not burgers & fries). Just don't expect them to get excited about how the decor reminds you of when you were a child...

My just turned four year old son loved eating in the cars. We haven't been to Prime Time so I can't compare. The cheeseburgers were very good at Sci-Fi, but I didn't think the shakes were anything great.

My DD3 and DD5 loved watching the movie and thought the car was cool. The burgers were great. The disboard had me warned that burgers were the way to go.

How your kids handle strangers should be the deciding factor. We had lunch at Sci-fi and it was pretty quiet. People were watching the clips.

My 4 y/o DD has been to both within the last year. She much prefers Prime Time and requests for each trip! They have little TVs in the kitchens that play old Mousekeer shows. The interaction is a lot of fun too. DD thought it hysterical that the waitress made the airplane noise to get me to eat my green beans. She also liked when they made the adults stand with their noses against the door jam for elbows on the table. On the other hand, she hated the Drive In. It was dark and the movies were old kong and attack of the martian flicks. She hated the food there too. Prime Time also has a build your own sundae there that DD just loves. I think you should go for the Prime Timw without a doubt.

If your child is afraid of the dark, the Sci-Fi may not be for you two. If your child is shy, the PTC may not be for you all! The food was pretty bad at the Sci-Fi, but I'm much older than 3 1/2. If your child likes to be a little loud, it is almost encouraged in the Prime Time Cafe. It's a silly place. It's my vote over all!

Wow, thanks for all the replies and votes - it is a dead heat...which one which one - we may end up trying both - see how it goes. If I only get to one it will be 50's Prime Time

thanks again!!
