Been to the 50's Prime Time 3 times and each time, the service was horrific and the food so-so. Won't go back unless in a group that insists.
Been to the Sci-Fi every trip since about 2001. Staff always nice and reliable... very busy and sometimes service is a little slow. Foods not fabulous, but fills us up. We just love the movies... even though we've got the reel practically memorized now.
Personally, unless it's just two of us or if we have a first timer, we prefer sitting at the "normal" tables. You can talk to your whole party in a normal dining table manner and you can usually get seated quickly without reservations if you don't want to sit in a car.
Every time we've had a person in our party with a birthday or graduation or some other special event button, we've been given special treatment and dessert without requesting it.
Mid afternoon in July, walking into the Sci-Fi is as refreshing as jumping into the resort pool....
My kids and I thought it was great. We had the milkshakes, 2 chocolate and 1 oreo. My son and I had the bacon cheeseburgers. They were 11.99 and the shakes were 4.50. My daughter had the hot dog kids meal. We probably won't do it again because it was expensive, but it is worth it to go once.

2 questions - we are a party of 3. does this mean 1 person ll have to sit infront/behind the other 2 alone?
and
the milkshakes - are they included on the DDP as a drink? or can they be used for the dessert? or do you have to pay OOP for them?
Loved the ambience, did not care for the food. I'd go back, just for the ambience!
Yes, if you have an odd number of people in your party one person would have to sit alone if you are in one of the cars. When we went the odd man out was me. But it wasn't a big deal, it didn't detract from my dining experience at all!

Yes, one person will have to sit alone if you get a car...You can request a table car that has chairs and you can sit across from each other..These tables are usually used for people that have babies in high chairs or if a person is on the "Pooh sized" side/pregnant...It also works for people that want to sit together rather than in front/behind eachother....
Yes, the milkshake is covered on the dining plan and you can also get a desset...We always order a milkshake and a water because the shakes are really think and do't really help with washing down food...But they sure are good and on the plan!
