OOGIE BOOGIE BASH & DESSERT PARTY REVIEWS****SPOILERS

Oh and seeing a lot of people are looking for Cheshire: make sure you check the app for his times or ask a CM at the Fountain. I've seen several posts he is 'always on at 7' on other forums. Yesterday he was first to come out, set began at 6.30. Wasn't a bad idea in my eyes, when he switched with Hans the line evaporated.

Other than Chessie the Fountain meets were fairly quick last night. Pain and Panic were more popular than Megara. But the line moves fast. Didn't get to checkout Kingdom Hearts and Sandersons, will check that out tomorrow if anyone is interested.

What I noticed was some of the treat trails were not using all of the roped off area. Most noticeable in the Hades and the Doom trails.

I wouldn't call it quiet, but I had way more hectic events. Radiator Springs opening probably ate a good chunk of the crowd, but still... I injured my knee and am way more slow than I thought, to the point of worrying. I got done what I really wanted without a problem, plus my amazing bonus meet.

Ha! I‘m not a native speaker, so my choice of words might not have been that precise. But I guess you understood. 🤣
Yes, I do understand. That building was originally Golden Vine Winery. On the hills behind it, you can still see grape vines growing. I think they refer to it as Golden Vine House DVC Welcome Home Center now.

I'm not sure if you walked inside or if you picked up the bag outside. The inside still has the appearance of a wine cellar.

There's not that many pictures. At the time it happened I was alone, maybe that's why it happened.

I have to say all CMs at the meet were amazing. Photographer took many pics and everyone was really patient when I freaked out.

Basically what happened was I sat near the Hades trail and was waiting for Hades to come back from break. I had noticed two VIP groups heading into an area back there and figured that is where the meet was. I don't think it's that busy, because a CM would come out, approach a group of people and take them back. That would make sense to me, why should Facilier stand there and twiddle his thumbs?

Note that it is the CMs making magic. Their call. When I left I saw another fan asking directly and she was told no. Please don't try to force this.

The CMs had noticed me sitting there and asked if I was alright. When my friends hadn't returned but Hades was back I went over, told them i was giving up waiting and thank you for being concerned about me. Yeah and then suddenly they asked me 'would you like to meet a new friend?' And next thing I knew I was standing in the meet and Dr. Facilier was fuzzing about 'Miss Cheshire.'
WOW... that is TRUE PIXIE DUST! How very sweet of them...Tink has been working overtime spreading the joy...you look so happy!

Yes, I was very happy. We had been joking prior that if anyone could stumble into there it was me - I had some extreme and rare character finds over the years. Then the others came back and I was trying to keep it together and they went 'no way.' Yes way. 😄

That was a yearly supply of pixie dust and insanely sweet CMs, yes. That's why I asked 'please don't try to force it."That may ruin it for everyone. I got no idea if it happens often, how the lucky people are determined or anything else. I can only say yes it happens, I got pics.

Since they said "new friend" it sounds like Facilier is still honing his zings... that may be why they are doing it this way. If that is right I'm sure he won't be doing it this way long.

It was my understanding that the Dr. Facilier meet and greet was for the VIP tours only. I'm sure it wasn't a tryout for him to practice. @Vala was truly pixie dusted by those CMs...

Tinkaboo is correct, thìs is definitely a VIP tour meeting, not training. The CMs are sending people away specifically saying it's for VIP groups only.

My first reaction was she said 'new friend' because 'friends from the other side'. But she may have used that term because I said my friends had ditched me for Guardians, as in 'bad friends, I'll introduce you to someone elsr.'

Question for folks who have either gone in a large(ish) costume or who have seen others do this. Lets say someone wore a costume like the one below, and they wanted to ride Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark. Would they be allowed to keep their head on? Or do you think cast has people remove stuff even if its secure and not going anywhere?

Asking for a friend....

That reminds me, I did have a bit of time Tuesday and went to time the Sandersons line. Line stretched back to the entry sign, CMs quoted 45 minutes. Took 25. Kingdom Hearts was walk up even.

Asking for a friend....

I am not sure about the head. The small claws could be a problem, and then the shell on the back.

I wanted to leave a review of our experience at the OBB. My 10-year-old son and I went on Sunday (10/5). We met up with my good friend and her 6-year-old son. This was our third OBB in three years.

We are Magic Key holders but my son has a Believe Key and he was blocked out this day so we planned to arrive after 3pm but before the party started. We had a last-minute costume switcharoo (thanks to my son coming to me at 8pm the night before and asking if we could switch to Sally and Jack) so we spent the entire morning visiting three Spirit Halloween stores to piece together our new costumes and it was totally worth it! That meant we were a little later leaving our house to get to the parks and I was worried it would take a long time to park and get through security but luck was on our side and both were completely empty. Exhibit A:
Security lines at 4:15pm—dead!

We grabbed a pizza from Napolini in DTD and carried it with us into DCA. Ate it at a table in Paradise Gardens and relaxed until the party started.

Part 2 in the next comment …

The boys’ biggest priority for the party was trick-or-treating, so we decided to position ourselves in Hollywoodland before the party officially started at 6pm. On the walk over, I forced the kids to take some pictures on Buena Vista Street while we still had light.

Walking through Hollywoodland we saw the lines for Oogie Boogie and Dr. Doofenshmirtz were already quite long, so we went over to the Hyperion to check out Ernest de la Cruz and it was empty. Score! I even had time to run over and grab the Celestial Chocolate Churro from Terrain Treats. This is the Dubai chocolate-inspired churro. It’s not exclusive to OBB but I’d been dying to try it and took my chance. I loved this churro. It has a strong pistachio flavor so you need to like that.

We were in Ernesto’s line when the party started and got to watch him come out. immediately fantastic crowd interactions right out of the gate, including with us. We then hit Judge Doom and Hades with no lines—everyone was at Oogie Boogie and Doofenshmirtz I guess. Three treat trails in by 6:15. The kids were happy!

We left Hollywoodland and as we walked past the Kingdom of Hearts photo opp the young boy with us saw Mickey and wanted to take a picture with him. Almost no one was in line and we waited about 7 minutes.

After that we hit Maleficent then Syndrome. Side note—Syndrome was a big downgrade from Sid. The actor was great but Sid is far superior in terms of a heckling character. Sid was missed.

IMG_3926.jpegIMG_3929.jpeg
We had to wait a while for Syndrome (about 15 minutes, the longest wait of the night for us), so at this point we booked it back to Hollywoodland to watch the first parade. We had originally wanted to watch from the Paradise Garden area but Syndrome took so long I was worried we missed the Headless Horseman (my favorite!) so we walked to Hollywoodland and found a decent spot to watch without too much hassle even though it was just about 10-15 minutes before the parade came through that area.

Since we had time and there was no line whatsoever, I sent the boys and my friend to trick-or-treat at Doofenshmirtz while I held our spot.

The Headless Horseman came through, which is always a thrill for me, and then the parade, which is short but very fun. I LOVE the new Jack costume head sooooooo much, he no longer looks like an alien!

IMG_3932.jpeg

IMG_3982.jpegAs the last parade float was passing, I hustled the boys up and we walked over to Oogie Boogie to trick or treat with no line as people were still watching the parade.

Part 3 to come …
